lol i know thats what they all say. I have a lab and i just wanted a little lap dog not really tiny but small and the lady told me i really don't think they will get any bigger than the mom if they do and you don't like it bring them back! How in the world could you bring them back after that long you've already fallen for them and thats how they get you! |

Maybe it was a sales pitch to get you to pay a little more? Some people consider anything smaller than 5# too small to breed. I have bought 3 dogs from a breeder whose lines are totally healthy and they are all under 4#. My dogs are 4th generation under 4#. I have two puppies by the father of my dogs by my 6# female who is totally unrelated to their line. One of the puppies is 4# and the other is over 6#. This father is 3rd generation small and he is only 2.12#. Sylvia |

You keep saying you want small but not tiny - 4# IS TINY. The double/triple rule doesn't always work. Loki was 3.5 pounds at 13 weeks when we brought him home. He is 9-10lbs and skinny as can be. He's tall and long. He is a SMALL dog. We've been training for over a year and there has only been one dog smaller than him, a baby chi, in any of his classes. He still fits on my lap, in his purse/carrier thing, in his car seat, etc. Please don't freak out if your dogs are a little bigger - Yorkies are tiny dogs. You are brining home 7.5 week old dogs, you need to realize you have bigger things to worry about. Get those dogs in classes as soon as they get their shots. Yorkies NEED socialization. If you are that concerned that they will top 4.5 pounds then wait until they are older to bring them home. No one can tell you how big they are going to be at this age. Just FYI, the best breeders of ANY breed do not let their pups go until 12 weeks. There is too much socialization from mom that they miss and they are not past their imprint stages... there are too many variables. Please be careful. |

Wyatt was right at 2lbs at 8 wks and now at 11 months he is 10 - 10 1/2 lbs. It's really hard to gauge sometimes. His mom and dad both are around 6 - 6 1/2 lbs. You just never know sometimes what size they are going to be. |

If you have changed your mind about breeding and haven't had her fixed you could probably contact the breeder and tell her what has happened and ask her to change the limited registration. She might do it. Sylvia |
