After reading this thread, what I don’t understand is how can he have so many sick animals? Yorkies are a hardy little breed.

Also as everyone here, I am so sorry that you have a sick baby. How very sad for you I only wish there was something that I could say to help.

I have been going at this for months now, he is conveniently located outside the city limits too. His prices sure have seemed to drop ......he thinks he is untouchable..........at the moment it seems like nothing positive will come from my experience, but that is not to say that I have given up!
My significant other(s) wants me to :'just let it go'...........................
frozen in time is what I feel like. Paperwork ready to go, just having to battle with hubby about that now. Crap, this has just been too much fun.

It is kind of a Catch 22 with Jeff Dane. People feel bad for these puppies and want to "rescue" them. So they purchase a puppy but really all they are doing is contributing to his evil ways. So, what's a girl to do

It's hard to see those babies like that but it's hard to justify "rescuing" them, too.

I am sorry to hear that your puppy is sick. My husband and I purchased a cute, little puppy from Jeff in February 2009. He was diagnosed with Coccidia at the vet and was on antibiotics for 3 days. He is fine now. I don't think he has Kennel cough. He is just as active as the day we got him. We didn't pay the thousands of dollars like some dogs were priced. He was significantly cheaper than the others. Did you pay thousands of dollars for him? I will say that I wrote Jeff and informed him that our puppy had Coccidia and that he needs to treat his dogs for it because our Vet said it is very common but very contageous. He replied that they treat their dogs every day for Coccidia. I didn't reply back but thought...well our dog missed the treatment. We have been fortunate I guess to have such a great pup. I am sorry to hear that your's is so sick. Best of luck.

yeah I came back to see if anyone responded and looked at all the dates only to notice that this was all posted in 2006. My puppy is fine now I just wish I would have read this before purchasing from Jeff. I guess I was lucky to get a somewhat healthy dog.

Just keep an eye on her and have all the tests done from the vet (bile acids to check for liver function, knee palpation to check for luxating patellas, hip exam to check for leggs-perths, etc). My friend has a little girl from Jeff and had surgery last fall on her hips as she had leggs-perth. Welcome!!

I had something very similar happen to me. I purchased my little baby from a breeder from here in NY and she came to me with parvo. After bonding so much with her, I had to give her to the animal hospital because I couldnt pay for the bill. It was 5000.00 dollars. I wish we could do something to let people know of these nasty breeders that are just looking to make a few bucks. What can we do?

This Jeff Dane was big in the monster trucks. I guess that's where he got all of his money to start his "puppymill". I wish they would get in there and shut him down!

Exactly! I am fairly new to the site so I hadn't read the thread until it was brought back up. I am glad to see it and now know this info as I have looked at his site many times in my search for a local breeder...he is fairly local to me.
