Hey - here's an idea.... When we lived in FL we had terrible problems with fleas on our cats (had no dogs at the time). We tried collars and they worked some but not completely... and then we still had to deal with the fleas biting US! We DID NOT want a flea infested house or pets! Someone advised us back then to use Borax. We put it down on our carpet for a couple of days and put some on the cats (Sounds terrible, doesn't it? I'd check with a vet before I'd do it again, but this person said it was safe. She read it in an article.). We vaccumed and then they were GONE! It was quite a while before we had to repeat. Sometimes we'd leave a little bit on the floor in front of doorways just to keep the fleas from coming in. We never had ticks on the cats - and FL was loaded with them! Perhaps the Borax worked on that too???
I don't know - take it for what it's worth. Here in northern Michigan we haven't had ANY troubles with fleas or ticks. I'm amazed and thankful! |
