How horrible! Those poor babies!! If you can't rescue them, please let me know. I'm willing to help either find these babies some good homes or take them in myself! |
Any news?! |
what if the vet doesnt have good news? are the dogs staying with that lady to find different homes?? i hope not!!!! |
I am very sad to say that these poor babies are not healthy at all. The female's (4.5lbs) condition can be reversed as she only has heartworms, not that it's a good thing but overall she has no genetic defects or illnesses. The male (5.8lbs) on the other hand had hip dyplasia, glaucoma, canine hepatitis, and heartworms, hookworms, any worms you can name, he has it. My vet did not recommend me rescuing the male, however I rescued both anyway. My husband has been very supportive and suggest that we give one up because we have a child on the way and it's too much for me to handle. My sister volunteered to take care of the male that we rescued and give him any and all treatments that he need. We think she'll do a good job because she is a vet tech. As for the female, she is on heartguard preventative and has been given several shots and she has never been happier. She runs wildly around my house like she never had the run of the house before. We haven't taken any pictures yet because they both needs to be groomed. Their hair we long and it was matted everywhere, it was bad as to where I cannot comb it out. It has been a very long day for me and I'm exhausted... BTW, she gave me a really good deal on these babies. $400 for both. Why not take the chance and see what differences we can make? |
Amazing- I'm so glad you found them. I'm sad for that "breeder" though... she knew they were probably unhealthy and didn't think twice about the dogs wellbeing... I'm so glad you found them!!! :clapsmile I can't imagine being put in that position and having to walk away from them. You're such a kind person!!!!!!!!:hearts6: |
God bless you! Those dear babies are so fortunate that they crossed your path! I haven't dealt with rescue dogs before, but I'm sure you're going to be the recipient of all the "puppy love" you can ever handle. |

Kudos to you!!! You did an AWESOME thing!! Those babies will love you forever, and they are in great homes thanks to you, Yay! |
The registry you mention is used almost exclusively by CBers and Millers. There is a special place in heaven for caring persons like you who take the d You did a good thing.own-trodden and raise them up. There is a special place in He!! for cold-hearted, unloving things like her...Thank you for listening to your heart and your husbands. You have saved many sickly puppies from being born and placed in the pet stores where a whole new generation will get started.... |
Great Job! I Am Very Proud Of You!! Your Awesome!! |
I would like to thank everyone for everything. I was just going to turn my back and walk away on those babies. Encouragement from everyone made me realize that these dogs are being treated unfairly and being a breeding machine just because of a person's greed for money. I have a long day tomorrow..groomers, shopping and pictures pictures pictures. Although I do have one question, are heartworms contagious? I'm afraid that Buttercup might get it. THe male we rescued today is named Taz for tazmanian devil. DOn't ask me why, he belongs to my sister now. And I'm still thinking of a name for my new baby girl. Any suggestions? |
You did the most wonderful thing by giving these two little souls a new chance at life...and a happy life! I think they both deserve new names for their new lives. Being as you already have a pup named for a flower, how about Daisy, Rosie, Lily, Lavender, Poppy, Holly, Laurel, Violet, Marigold or...my favorite...Willow? Just a thought :) Congrats on your new little loves. I know they'll be so happy in their new homes! |

God Bless you and your sister. I look up to you so much! I know that you are doing the right thing. |
Oh those poor little darlings! She bred a big male (5.8 lbs) to a small female (4.5 lbs)?? And on top of that, the male has dyplasia, glaucoma, canine hepatitis, and heartworms, hookworms and the female has heartworms? That just makes me so MAD MAD MAD!! Those poor little angels had such a rough life to start with. I'm so glad you found them (and your sister) and are going to take care of them and give them all the love they never received. And bless your hubby too -- he sounds like a gem. You really are an awesome person for being so loving and generous and for opening up your heart and home to these helpless little babies. God bless you and your family. PS - At least this disgusting "breeder" gave you a discount. After all, you and your sister and going to be spending A LOT of money to get these little ones healthy again. I'm glad you got a break on the price. |
That is a wonderful thing that you did. I hope all goes well!!!! I'm sure these little babies are so happy to be away from that lady....I wish people who mistreated their animals could realize that these are just like liitle humans. Then again people like that would probably mistreat their own skin kids. So when is your baby due??? |

I am so glad you were able to help these two! They will be forever grateful for their new homes. You are a wonderful person to do this for them! Congrats on the upcoming skin arrival. When is is due? Is it a girl? Nancy |
rescue What a terrible situation...I am happy to hear they are in a better place..even Yorkie Heaven would have been better!!!! Please be careful with worms...if one dog in a kennel has hooks or any type worms, it is a good bet all or most have them...so not allow the male to use the yard..once hooks get in the soil it can be a huge problem even for humans.. Good Luck |

Q: My neighbor adopted a Katrina dog, which is very nice. But the dog was heartworm positive. Should I worry about my own dog's health? -- L.C., Grand Rapids, MI A: Not as long as you give your dog a heartworm preventative. Heartworm isn't contagious from pet to pet. "If your dog is on a preventative, heartworm disease will not occur; it's as simple as that," says Dr. Jorge Guerrero, an adjunct professor at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine and chair of the American Heartworm Society Scientific Committee. |
the other worms, like Pat said, I would worry about. what a good man you have for allowing you to do this. Bless your hearts! |

I'll bet the little girl feels like she has been freed from a prison. I'm sooooo glad she has a chance at a good life. You are an angel! :) |
You, your hubby and sister are hero's for giving these innocent Yorkies a new chance at life. The breeder should be chained out in her backyard and treated as poorly. How can people be so heartless? Stories like this make me so sad:( Hope everything goes good for you all.:aimeeyork |
I Wouldnt I wouldnt and the only reason I say this is health issues. If they were bred that early, she was in it for money only and not the health of the dog. That is way to early to breed a dog. They are not even fully developed themselves. No medical records and not on any preventative, could have heart worms, ring worms any number of things going on inside them. I wouldnt unless the vet sees them first and guarantees they are ok. They do need to be rescued thats for sure, but you could have a lot more than $500 wrapped up in them before its all said and done if they arent healthy. Not to mention the heartache. If she wont cut you a deal that means she could care less about who gets them or what happens to them. She just wants money. Its a disgrace to the reputable breeders. How sad for them. |
Stories like this just infuriate me! I\'m so glad that you came into their life to save them from their horrible situation! Kudos to you and your dh!! I love the name Lilly! Good luck with her and I can\'t wait to see pics! |
