need name for a girly boy
 

I am going Monday to pick up my newest little baby. He is 16 months old and the breeder was planning to keep him to stud but decided not to and LUCKY ME! I get him. I saw him at 8 months and just fell in love with him. He is the sweetest most affectionate little guy I've ever seen. He is pretty little at 3.1 lbs. and truthfully looks like a little girl in my opinion. He is very docile and just wants to be held and loved. I want to change his name because it is the same name of a mean little pekinese I know. I have been reading the archives for about an hour looking at names and from those my favorites are Twinkie and Whiket(sp?). I really like Pixie but I guess that really is more of a girl's name. He really looks like a Pixie to me so I'm looking for any ideas along that line that works for a little boy. I'm going to try to attach some pictures but I took them with my phone and they might not be the right type of file. Thanks!

Okay, it let me upload one. The others are bitmaps so I'll have to figure out how to change them. He is in bad need of a grooming in this picture and his ears look big because of all of the hair but they're really are small.

omg he is so CUTE! and tiny. he does look like a pixie, but that might be too girlie. you can call him legolos from LOTRs LOL he's a faerie which is sort of like a pixie, and he looks girlie in the movie :yelrotflm

i have male cat that is such a big girlie baby. His name is Bailey. it goes for both sexes really. I"m sure you'll come up with something cute for him.

What is his name now? You might want to choose a name that is close to or rymes with his current name so he won't be so lost and not know you are talking to him calling him a strange name. If it was me, and he was already named, it would not matter that a friend had a dog named the same thing...after all, you did not name him that...he was already named! I understand that you would want to change it if you absolutely did not like the name tho...after all, he will be your dog...this is just MY opinion...:D

I wasn't sure about changing his name at first but did a search here and found a thread about how easy it is to do and how quickly they adapt. His current name is Scooter and I kicked around Shooter since it's similar but it just doesn't suite him. I spent a day last weekend with him and we just bonded instantly. It's like we were just made for each other! Can y'all tell I'm a little excited?

HE looks like a sweet little boy . Food names !!!! Poptart, gumdrop, sugarbear,Pixie sticks,Peanut,ect. What about Jazzy,Mazzy,Jerry,Terry,Freddy,Andy,Carlyle,Casey, Elie,(Elton)

Thanks everyone. That's funny- I had thought about Jujubee last weekend and forgotten it. I'll have to put that back at the top of my list. So far I'm liking Twinkie, Sugarbear, Jujubee.

Oh he is so cute. Let me tell you...I owned a male....he won't need a girly name because people automatically think all yorkies are female. Unless you want to constantly correct them, I'd name him something you like, but not feminine either.

I like Whicket (or however you want to spell it), Peanut is cute too. I also like Sigmund or Siggy for short. I also like the name Murphy. If I get another boy yorkie, I am thinking of the name Finn. Congrats on your new baby!!

if you really like pixie you could make it male and call him Pixi or Pixy or Pix.

How about "Pixel" ? That's more boyish. He really looks like a Pixel to me too.

Hee hee! That's the truth! I have a girl and a boy now and everyone always assumes they're both girls. My boy really looks like a mischievous little boy to me but when we're out, people think he's a girl. I guess topknots throw people who aren't yorkie people.

Thanks for all of the ideas everyone! I'm thinking about naming him Sugar. It was a name I had considered when I got Gracie and sounds a little like his original name. I have to clear it with my daughter because I call her Sugar sometimes and I don't want to hurt her feelings. She gets home from a camping trip tomorrow so I'll decide then. I do like Pixi and Pixel a lot too. He is in North Carolina and I'm in Florida so I'm going crazy! My mom has him until I get there Mon. She owns a doggie boutique and groomers and had him groomed yesterday which he really needed. I should get some pictures from her today so I'll post them when I get them.
