I need help with a decision! I need your help and I knew that I could count on you guys for this. So here is my problem. Adam, my hubby, has started giving me hints the past couple of days that he wants another yorkie baby. Well last night he looked at me and said... Heather, do you think that you would want another yorkie for our anniversary (June 25)? I got an instant grin on my face just like this :D So here is where I need your advise, Ive been wanting another one but now that it comes down to it I dont really know, I told Adam that I would need to think about it. So all of you with 3 babies, let me know how it is better then having 2. Im just soooo afraid that one of them will be left out alot or get picked on by the other 2. We have enough money to have another one and give it all of the love and attention, so it just comes down to me not wanting to hurt Chloe and Daisy's feelings by getting another little one! Please Help!!! |
sorry cant help you, only have one, but you have a great husband... |
I only have one Yorkie but I think it's like with kids: You just love all of them. Since you and your husband together have 4 hands there could be room for even a 4th. In your heart, I'm sure, there is room for 100! :aimeeyork |
Well I'm sure love won't be a problem at your house, but you need to decide if it's what you want,,another mouth another housetraining, vet bills, all those puppy things.. It's up to you. What a great hubby you have! I weigh my options alot lately,, but I'm undecided ... they are alot of work when they are little.. but so worth it,,but I always forget about all the work when ya see those little puppy faces. ;) Let us know what you decide... |
I have two. In the future I am going to get a 3rd. I wish I could get her now. I would get the pup. I am sure Daisy and Chloe wll adapt and like having a new playmate. What a great Anniversary gift |

It will take time but they will all adjust and I figure that training will go faster being that the pup will have role models to show her the ropes. |

This is exactly what I am talking about, Ive been saying that I want another one, but its the potty training, the getting Chloe and Daisy used to another one. Now that it comes down to it I am having a hard time! I wish that he would have just went out and bought me one so that I wouldnt have to think about all of this ;) It would have just been a done deal! |
How about an older rescue? That way you have a "ready made" Yorkie and all the rescues really need a good home! :aimeeyork |
So tell him to decide and just suprise you. He can tell how thing are going there and if you will have the patience to start all over again. He should know you better than you know yourself anyhow...lol. By the way congrats on the upcoming anniversary! |
I would say go ahead and get the third one...then, get another, if you have room, then another, and another....... My daughter has 6 permanent residents. Occasionally we have a litter from one of the females. We seem always to have room for more. After the pups are sold, we baby sit for some of the new mamas. We also have them come over to visit. Some times we have "strangers" come and visit. It takes a few minutes, but pretty quick they all seem to get along. (Of course we only have one stud, who needs to be locked up when the strangers are here, but he doesn't really care! He likes his privacy.) I do think that getting them socialized at a young age is important in having them get along later in life. Ours are all jealous to a certain extent, but they also love each other a lot, so it works out. |
What about... Well if you want another baby to Love, and want to make the anniversarry gift extra special.....why not get a rescue yorkie??? Many of the rescue Yorkies are potty trained, you can choose the perfect special one that really needs your Love, and you can test your others with it with onsite visits. You could know you made a difference in a homeless Yorkies life. |

I think my only qualm about getting a third would be traveling.... it is alot easier taking 1 everywhere, two a bit harder and 3 well... I think is alot more dififcult..... good luck inyour decision!:) p.p.s My 4 YEAR ANNIVERSARY is on the 21st ...4 days before yours... how neat is that...lol./. |
I say go for it. Daisy and Chloe will go through a period of adjustment but in time they will accept the new puppy. Just remember, the more the merrier. Good luck and what a great husband you have!! |
I can't really give you any adivce on three furbabies b/c I only have two! And what a wonderful man you have!!!:love07: My fiance said two yorkies is enough, for a little while anyways! Good luck on deciding!!! |
Wow, Heather...in theory it sounds like an easy decision, I don't think the love is a consideration...you'd love them just the same. But starting all the puppy biz allll over again, after you are past puppy "issues" is a whole other story. Good luck with whatever you decide and you're right it would've been easier if hubby just brought one home. :) |
