Cali has a bad urinary Tract Infection I finally got a urine sample and ran it over to the vet and she came out and told me that Cali had a bad infection with lots of crystals and that those were like little pieces of glass coming out and that's why she is licking and raw down there. My poor baby! She is on 2 meds and vaseline for her you know where. One med she ahs to stay on for 3 weeks. |
Ouch!!! At least she has the medicine now...hope her coochie feels better soon. :) |
Ouch! Glad you got a sample in before closing. I'm sure she'll be feeling better in no time at all. |
Poor baby! Hope she's getting better very soon! Maybe you can have her drink a little camomille tea. That helped one of my other dogs really good. And she liked the taste too. :aimeeyork |

Poor Cali Oh my goodness! That poor baby. :( Is she feeling any better since she has a little medi in her? I hope you gets well soon. I know how stressful it is when one of our sweet babies are sick. Keep me posted on how she is doing... Im sending hugs your way. Give Cali and big hug from me and tiffany. |
Thanks everyone for your well wishes. i gave her 1 antibiotic so far and put the vaseline on her hoo hoo and she seems to be a little more active and not licking down there. Villette, I needed to get a sample in by 5:15 and she had just peed on my just washed sheets, a massive amount, at about 2:00 so I kept trying to get her to drink water I took her outside in the warm air, gave her a few pieces of salty potato chips and I put her wee wee pad upside down so the pee would stay on the plastic and syringed it up. Finally at 4:00 she peed and I ran it over and waited for the results. Poor thing jhs never peed on my bed so I knew something was definately up. |
Hi Patti, I am so sorry to hear that Cali has crystals in her urine....I hope she is feeling better soon. Crystals in urine can be directly related to liver problems and shunts...I know that her enzymes are borderline but you may want to discuss this with the vet...I have read about this connection on the livershunt.org website as well as in info published by Dr. Tobias. Cali may need a diet change...due to her history I would look into this further. Wishing her a speedy recovery. |
Aww poor Cali! Tucker used to have tons of stones, yucky! Get better soon baby Cali!!! |
Sweet Cali... Hope you are feeling better soon. Your mommy is taking such good care of you! Sending you lots of wishes for a speedy recovery! |
Poor Cali! I'm sure many of us human women know what it feels like to have a UTI. At least we know right away and can deal. It's hard to tell symptoms of a species we are not. :( :getwellso |

Poor little sweetheart! I hope she recovers quickly! Sending get well wishes and Maddie sends kisses! |
Oh poor Cali. I know they aren't fun. Our bloodhound got one once, I could tell immediately b/c the poor thing was squating like every 5 minutes with little or nothing coming out. When she would squat she would hang her head you just knew she was in pain. I didn't know dogs could get them until then though. She got to feeling better pretty quick on the medicine so hopefully Cali will too. I know when I've always gotten them they tell me to drink plenty of water to help flush everything out. So I kept putting water in Auburn's food to get her to drink as much as possible. That may be something to consider... Poor thing, I'm sure she'll be feeling better soon. |
Oh poor Cali- I hope she is better real soon and good thinking on your part to rescue a sample!! |
