I have to vent, sorry I'm so frustrated! I feel like I'm never going to get my beautiful yorkie. They're so expensive. I'd rescue, but I just can't deal with that heartache right now. Everytime I get close to the goal, something pops up that's urgent or an emergency or neccessary, or whatever. It's driving me crazy! The worst part is I feel like no one understands. :( I hate to vent, but I just had to let this out. Deirdre |
Awwwwww I'm sorry you are going through this! What about a younger rescue? Simon and Hallie are both rescues and have brought me nothing but joy and love (ok and a bit of patience building). You will have a baby soon when it's meant to be :) |
I understand. Have you looked through the thread on how much people have paid for their yorkies. There are some on there that got some real bargains. Maybe you could find out where they got them. |
With a rescue you usually know exactly what you are getting because they have been checked out so thoroughly. Don't really know what you mean by heartache. The Yorkies seem to be very high in California (but isn't everything). El Paso (about 12 hours from San Diego) has a very depressed economy so you can get a purebred Yorkie from $400 and up. Also remember that once you buy a Yorkie you should have at least $500 in the bank for their routine vet care. |
The right one will come along! |
hi i totally understand, every time i saved money we needed something or my husband wanted to do something different, but anyways www.jdanes1.homestead google it, it might be wrong, has a male for $325.00 akc he is the same size mine is 4lb at 15 weeks, named PORKY the reviews that i saw on the breeder were good, he also had some for 375.00, 400.00, 450.00 etc... males were much cheaper then females good luck, i hope you get a baby!!!! |
Just be patient you will get your yorkie I am sure. When you do though be sure to have money set aside for the vet. When I got my dogs I took them the next day to the vet and it cost me over $200 for a puppy package for my dog's shots |
Stay away from Jeff Dane. I do not have any personal knowledge, but if you do a search on his name you will find plenty of negative comments. |
What is your price range?? Maybe some people on here could give you some names of some breeders in your price range! I noticed a couple of people have done that already. I know it's hard to hear, but when the time is right, a yorkie fit perfectly for you will come along. GOOD LUCK!!! |

holy crap that's so much money for a dog.. i thought only paris hilton paid that much... not saying it's neccessarily a bad thing though. if i had $1,000-2,000 i'd do it. but they're only $300-400 here. and they're pretty and well bred. dont be scared to rescue. i rescued baxxxter and he's THE BEST dog i could have asked for. no probs whatsoever. it just depends on the dog you rescue. dont be afraid to be picky. and dont be rushed! and have money saved for vet bills and such. |

Oh how funny, I was thinking the very same thing tonight.....but, let me complicate it.......I am looking for a specific yorkie....ie...female.....black and tan and.....show prospect..... So see.......I probably will never find her...... But, its ok......just remember ...when its the right puppy, it will all fall in place. Maybe you could tuck money in a box somewhere and do not touch it......keep adding to it.....and try not to use for family bills....esp if this puppy is a family purchase... Good luck, we can hang in there together....LOL |

I hope you are able to find your puppy. We got a one year health guarantee with Baby Blessing but if something came up before the year is up would we give her back for another, no way, we have become so attatched to her and would do what ever needed to be done to take care of her. We are looking to get another little girl play mate for Baby Blessing and like you are doing, hoping we will be lucky enough to find one that is healthy and reasonabley priced. If I hear of one I will let you know. Are you wanting to get a m/f ? Good luck. Patti and ~~Baby Blessing~~ |

I feel your pain! You should have a Secret Box...just for your Yorkie Fund. Why don't you try getting a part time job just for the yorkie...all that money would go toward his purchase and some back-up for vet care and emergency. There are some affordable pups out there, just make sure its from a nice Breeder and that the pup is healthy.... Francie P.S. You should try contacting Yorkie Rescue groups.. |

I know the feeling, I looked for almost 2 years, cause there was no way I was paying 1,000 or up, I looked in the paper, online, the pound, rescues, petfinder.. and one day on a local online ad thing, there they were, a normal family had a male and female and had one litter, and wasnt about making money only finding good homes.. I wanted a female, but when I called all they had was 2 males, so I said I'd come look at them,, ya see how that turned out, of course I went to the bank first,, to look... lol Bailey was 375.00 the female were 400.00 It can happen, I know. Good Luck, and don't give up, everytime you see Yorkie, ask where they got them, I did that too, and still do. |

Yeah, they are only around $400 to $700 here in Misssouri. I gave $500 for She-Ra and $350 for Harley. She was 5 lbs and he is around 6. |

Hang in there! The perfect pup is out there for you. Just don't lose hope...:) |
you should do a search on YT for JEff Danes. I saw a post and got curious, there are some SERIOUS problems there, from what I see |
Grab an old jar and start saving some money...a little at a time and it won't be long before you have enough for a yorkie!. There are some great deals out there, but please be patient and get what you want because you will have this little one in your life for a long long time. I totally understand about wanting to raise a pup. I rescued every dog I've ever owned and this time I wanted to do something different and go through a breeder. I did get Topher for a cheaper price as he was going to be larger than the yorkie standard. He's 10lbs and I love every inch of him. Now we're on the lookout for a little gal playmate. I know it's probably going to be a couple of years before I find the one I want. I wish you all the best. Please don't necessarily buy one that's cheaper...make sure you get what you want!! |
I know how you feel about the money thing.. I felt the same way right before tax refund time. Here I was so happy about getting a couple thou back and thinking we were going to save it for something special then my hubby had a car accident...totaled my car..he was fine thank god but it just goes to say sometimes you can't get ahead..and that money just comes then goes. What are your specifics for a female? SOmetimes the unregistered ones seem less in CA. I am about 2 hrs south of you. There are some out here but I guess it would depend on what you want to spend and your expectation. Oh out of curiousity I called this highly recommended breeder here in CA and she had a female pup coming up for $5000!! AHHH!! |
