Shiny Coat
 
I would like to get Tia's coat to shine a bit more. Her coat is far from dull but still, I want it to glow more. :)

Any suggestions on shampoo/conditioner? :)

We use "Fresh & Clean Oatmeal and Baking Soda Shampoo with Aloe Vera" and the "Pet Silk Liquid Silk Serum" that Villette recommended. Dreama is a SHINY girl!

We also sprinkle Missing Link on both meals daily. I think that helps, too.

I used to use CC system but now I use Bio-Groom (Apple Crisp scent) and it makes her hair sooooooooooooo shiny. I no longer use CC because I don't think it smelled very good and she wasn't as shiny and clean as she is with biogroom. Plus I only pay $10 as opposed to $20. I also give her salmon oil with her night meals, and that helps too.

I use CC products but I also use a product called Plush Puppy Seabreeze Oil. It is an oil that you can put in their hair for shine.

I currently use the CC system too but I'm not thrilled with the results. Where do you buy the Bio-Groom (Apple Crisp scent)?? I bet Coco smells like a cute little bunch of apples. :) :)

Adding Missing Link (omega fatty acids) to their diet improves the quality of their coats. I just purchased some Cowboy Magic De-tangler. Toby's Natural just started carrying it. It is great for matts, but it also makes their coats very shiny. It takes just a little tiny bit so it is very economical to use.

it actually already has an active conditioning ingredient PLUS it has oatmeal in it too :D It doesn't get better than that. I just use that and no conditioner because it already has it in there.

We use an oatmeal shampoo but that wasn't realy working to give her a shiny coat for days. She had really dry skin and coat. That grizzly's salmon oil literally turned it around 180 degrees. No dry spots on her skin and the coat is extremely shiny. I would suggest you get some of that. I ordered it online.

I use CC as well and I want to switch to Bio Groom. I have been using teh Missing Link supplement and I am starting to see some results. Cali's coat is shinier and silkier.

I was just asking about CC on another post. This is good to know!:thumbup: My question is... Can you buy it at the store or do you have to order it online?

You can buy it at the store or online. Pretty easy to find. Here's a picture of Coco's shiny coat

I add Salmon oil to their Kibble. It has really helped both of their coats.

They LOVE the taste. You can get it at petco, or petsmart or online. It's called Grizzly Salmon Oil.

Tatum really likes the taste of the Grizzly Salmon Oil but I just recently switched to the Missing Link to sprinkle on her food. I don't think the Salmon Oil was doing much for her. We used it for about a year almost so now we're going to see how Missing Link compares. All products work differently for different dogs.....

I wonder if I should use both Grizzly Salmon Oil AND Missing Link ... or would that be too much?

I think I asked that same question here once and was told that they are basically the same thing so it would be redundant and not necessarily any more helpful. But harmful?? I don't know.

I searched www.petco. and www.petsmart.com but I wasn't able to find the Grizzly Salmon Oil. So I ordered it from JB Wholesale Pet Supplies. The grand total (including shipping) came out to $24.98.

I can't wait for my babies to try it! :) :)

Where can I get Bio-Groom? Tiger's coat is not as shiny as I want it to be and am not very happy with CC systems. He continues to get white flakes. I hope it is one I can buy locally.

I have decided to try the petsilk products and ordered the shampoo & conditioner online. We had a dog show over the weekend and although they were out of the petsilk shampoo/conditioner, I was able to get the silk serum. Can someone tell me how to use this? Is it only used after every bath or can it be used anytime. Do you have to dilute it or just as it is.

I also bought the tear stain remover but have not clue on how to use it???

You can go on Google and type in Grizzley Salmon Oil for dogs, and you'll get the sites that sell it. I bought mine at Petsmart. For 4 lbs dog you do 2 squirts of it on their food. It has weight/size instructions on the back of it.
