Don't let people get to you and try to come back with a remark as bad as the one they said......

If it was said in a not-so-nice way ---- just say - "That wasn't a nice thing to say." and leave them thinking about it.

This is SOOOO good! I'm going to remember that one! I've had people say that of Maddie too...moreso when she was younger and smaller. It DID upset me because as far as I'm concerned, rats are as disgusting as disgusting can get and it is a slam for our yorkies to be referred to as rats!

Along with our yorkie we have a chihuahua whose weighs 3 lbs. People who have big dogs are always calling her a little rat. I get so aggravated, but my hubby just laughs and tells them "yeah but cleaning up after her is a cinch compared to your dogs, she makes a little tootsie roll and yours makes a huge pile of $!*#". :D That usually shuts them up.

Thank-you all for the varied and very funny advice! I certainly won't be short of a comeback next time! I know my baby is a cutie and that is what matters. Isn't it funny that you can hear 20 positive comments and 1 negative and it is the negative one that sticks! I love the wet Yorkie pictures. Thank-you for cheering me up! lol

Your baby is a cutie pie and anyone who says different is nuts!!! Never listen to criticism...it usually comes from people who are jealous and wish they had a baby that cute anyway!!! :-)

it's ok; those nasty people are just lonely and need loving; fortunately we have our little furballs! next time, just say,"wow, somebody needs some lovin"

but honestly; just ignoring that $$$$$$ and walking away knowing the fact that he probably has a miserable life is fine =)

And if any dumb mens say you isn't the key-ute-est puppy vat fey've ewer seen when we're on our yorkie walk next week I'll pee on vem and Evil Wee'll bark at them weally loud!

Your little one is adoreable, my reply next time would be, "No she isn't, but she and I sure smell one," and say it with a great big :) By the way, I see you are from New Zealand, any chance are you with the yorkie group there? Hi baby blessing... Just thought I'd pipe up and say I know Ella! (and Holly) They are both such sweet wee yorkies. Ella's mummy told me about YT! Bad Mel - I'm so totally addicted now!

I mentioned to Mel that I wanted to start a yorkie owner group and she encouraged me and both Mel and Sandra are in the group! They are the BEST! with the CUTEST little yorks! [not a rat between them!] Check out the link in my signature to the Group's website and you can see pics of all the babies on a walk.

I think you get a lot of comments with them. Most positive but some people can be rude. I was walking Ella and must have looked a little nervous when a huge dog was comig towards us and the lady yelled out 'Don't worry he's had lunch'
People can be funny. But don't worry she doesn't look anything like a rat!!

Sure hope your feeling better. Baby Blessing is getting her puppy teeth out Wendsday, needless to say I am a nervous wreck. I think that is great to have a group like you have there, glad Mel told you
about YT yes, it is the greatest. Have sure enjoyed corresponding with Mel. I shall check out the groups website, Mel sent me it before but maybe there will be more recent pictures. Did you get the website up, fine job there :) I don't know our time difference, have a great day or evening which ever it is there.

The site will be updated again next week - we're having another walk. I can't wait!! We should have about three new people along!! I love the chance to hug and cuddle so many adorable yorkies.

Tho you have to be really careful hugging the Holly dog cos she'll wiggle right out of your arms!!

Yep Holly is a cute little wriggler alright. She is looking so cute. I can't wait to see her again.
Liz- Tell Dougal and Dixie Thank you from Ella!! Maybe I should invite Mac on our walks too for back up!!:rolleyes:
I can't wait for the next walk! Yay for new yorkies!!
Patti- give Baby Blessing my love for Wednesday I am sure she will be fine but I understand why you are nervous!
I don't know if I could say a rude comment but at least I will be thinking it if it happens again!! :D
