Myhusbanc is such a big softy!!! He talks all tough and all but he really loves all dogs and especially Hefner and Chai. In fact I didn't even tell him I was getting either of them and he was not only okay with it, he talks about them to patients in the dental office! I thought for sure he would be upset about Chai, but he tried to act mad, but the scowl turned into a smile despite himself!! It was so cute. I do have to watch the puppies more carefully on the weekends when he is doing things around the house because he slams doors or leaves them open and this can be hazardous to a small dog. I have tried to talked to him about it and he says I have to watch them constantly or put them in a pen if I am afraid they will get otu or get hurt. I have told him to pretend we have toddlers in the house and you have to be careful closing doors and watch for little fingers...er...paws! He's better now because he knows how much I love them and how devastated I would be if one got hurt. |
After 46+ years of marriage, my hubby has figured out that he can have his say but it might not always have the desired effect..I have 2 chocolates, 3 Biewers, 1 AKC parti and one standard blue and tan so he always has a choice. Not about the breed but about the color he wants to play with on any given day. I do have to remind him constantly not to allow them in the dominant place when he sits and holds them. Remi, my parti boy, has my heart when he smiles like a fool. We just laugh at them.. They are our entertainment so we don't go to movies or rent movies or anything. There is never a dull moment here... |
I am lucky too! My bf loves our dogs. We got Rocky as "his" birthday present LOL!! Then we got Haley and when we moved into our house we got Maya! We have 3 now and he just pampers them ALL day long. He wont go to sleep unless they are all in bed with us!! |
My boyfriend loves Stewie and buys him clothes, food & toys. He plays with him "rough", but not too rough to where I get nervous. He's concerned with his diet and well-being and calls to check up on him, barely asking how I am ;) He's had Maltese all his life though, and he LOOOOOOOVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEESSSSSSS little dogs. I've always had big dogs. Anyway, I could name a few other things we fight about if you want ;) haha |
My husband has always been a "big dog" guy... and I had always wanted a yorkie. Eventually, he gave in and we got our first yorkie. Now she is as much his baby as she is mine! He talks to her like she were a small child. When it comes to dressing her up, he doesn't do that- he leaves that to my daughter and myself! :D But he will "remind" me when she needs her hair and topknot redone. He says he doesn't know how to fix her hair- I think he just likes to see her with bows looking pretty. :D He knows it's just a given that when we go to the store, I am probably going to buy something for my pups. I guess I am lucky he is so understanding. |
Two sidenotes: Sebastian's Mom: that picture of your husband, child and the puppy is the MOST adorable thing I have seen in a long time. I've seen those candid moments in my house, but my bf will get crazed if I photograph him ;) Jessy, Zoey's mom - "if i catch zoey doing something she is supoossed to be doing i tell her no he tell me leave her alone she still a baby lol..." I hear that all the time when I'm reprimanding Stewie. My bf is like "be nice, he's just a baby" LOL |
I wanted a yorkie so much, I actually told my now husband I would know he loved me when he got me a yorkie. He absolutely forbid it. He likes cats and hates yappy little dogs. We got married last year in Feb and I guess the girls at his work thought he should get me my yorkie, but advised him to take me with him. He decided to get him for my birthday in June. We had a great time, I ended up getting two, a boy and a girl. Not brother and sister. He loves them. He fell in love with them from the start. He kisses them before me. He comes home and falls on the ground with them. He is a 6'3"big guy, but dotes over the babies and talks baby talk to them. It is wonderful! I just have to be careful he doesn't' give them too many treats. |
My husband loves our babies, and he goes to the stores with me to pick out clothes for both of them and toys etc. he rocks them in his chair every night and they love it. when he leaves and comes back all I have to say is there's Daddy and the both get all excited to see him. the are so spoiled by him and me they go every where with us the love going in our RV. |
Thanks StewiesMom, my husband blushed and laughed a little when he found out I posted his pic. (I think it's cute also) LOL |
Sydnee shares the same Birthday as I do ! Just had to post lol So we can celebrate our birthdays together online Dec 16! Well I have to say that I am extremely fortunate in this area.My hubby spoils them pretty much also!. I have NEVER EVER liked dogs period. Trust me we went through 3 dogs in 14 yrs. However I've always thought that Yorkies were the most adorable dogs. I was the type that hated a dog to lick me , stepping on pee or poop would drive me nuts lol I dont know what this has to do with the subject sorry ... I absolutely adore my two furbabies to death. To the point of obsession. My husband is totally supportive and he does come home on "payday" with a bag of treats and toys for the little fury babies we have running around. He takes video of them playing in the yard and saves it on his phone. He even dresses Cookie and Mimi to help me get them ready.I love every lick on my face and I dont know how I could have lived without their unconditional love for so long! I email my hubby pictures of them to his job and he calls me "awwww they look so cute!" The funniest thing is that my hubby is the most macho dude you could ever meet! lol Genie |
Dave used to be a "big dog" guy too - but Sandy totally won him over. Sandy is still his baby, I think that's why he bought Tia for me, his and hers ;) Although, don't tell Sandy - we both still think of her as a momma's girl. He and Tia have a love-hate relationship. She hates him, he does his best to love her. Although the last few nights, she's given him a few licks in the middle of the night - that's progress! |
Tinkerbell was supposed to be my husband's dog because he doesn't like fu fu maltese (that's what he says, but guess who's always laying wrapped up in his arms on the couch when he's napping) So we got Tinkerbell for him, he would say he always wanted her in a scruffy puppy cut and didn't want the bows in her hair, rolled his eyes at my new carrier, how much did it cost?!? etc, etc... Then I started asking for another human baby (we have two boys, I'd love a girl!) Let's just say he doesn't mind me dressing my little furry girls up now! He doesn't want more kids. HaHA! I may get my way some day though! Since i am Tinkerbell's caregiver during the day she is definately my girl now. I think Yorkies bring out the maternal instinct in us ladies because they are so much like children. It's just not the same for men. I've heard "she's just a dog" come from my husband's mouth many times. He doesn't think my little stories of what she did today are as exciting as I do. And I accept that. So now I do whatever I want and don't even tell him what I buy anymore! :D I'm not saying that my husband doesn't like Tinkerbell, I just think they have their own unique relationship. Hopefully your s/o will grow into a relationship with Bailey all his own as time goes on. Maybe with the crate training not going so well and the potty training chore, could be that it's overshadowing the good qualities of the little guy. He won't be able to resist that cute little face for long, I'm sure! |
My husband adores Chelsey, my mom is planning on bringing one from South africa and yesterday i was going through Chelsey's closet and found that shes grown out of a lot of her things so i told him i would keep them for my mom's little one, he told me to keep them for our next baby, i was like  huh u planning another... but it wont be in the near future, i have to give Dounia our lab and Chelsey all my time for now, they both still pups. Dounia is his big spoiled "little"girl and Chelsey is his baby, hes not shy to tell any of his friends that she is his baby... he spoils her rotten and nothing is too expensive for her lol... he loves it when i dress her up and she ofcourse  loves her daddy lol He plays rough with both Dounia and Bonja, takes them swimming etc... but he baby talks with a rough husky voice to Chelsey, it melts my heart honestly... it makes me love him more ;) |
My boyfriend absolutely loves our puppies. After getting Hercules, he fell in love with the breed so much, that he decided to get Athena. And now he always says, "I've always loved yorkie" and I'm like, "you didn't even know the breed existed until I started talking about them all the time!" He's now a fan for life!! |
my husband does not like hailey. he thinks she is annoying. he thinks i go overboard with her. if we go somewhere together he won't let me bring her. i thought he was coming around, he would talk to her and play with her but now he just ignores her, which is sad because she adores him. he yells at me everytime i buy her stuff. he said dogs are not made to wear clothes and bows but i told him that hailey was. we got in an arguement yesterday because i wanted to order one of those beds from target and he had a fit. he said the dog already has 2 beds she doesn't need a third, but i think she does!! |
