loose ? How many hours is your yorkie loose in the house with you there? (not crated or confined) |
I would say on average 8 hours a day. |
24/7 :) |
They are loose 24/7 .... they have the run of the house, when i go out i crate them for a few hours. |
i took my crate down. he is loose 24/7. i work nites so someone is always with my little guy. :) |
lexi is loose all day, all night when i there or not |
Chachi and Jewels are with me all day. |
Always loose 24/7. I'm home most of the time, but don't even crate when I'm not. |
My boys are loose 16 of 24 hours but after they're done house training they'll probably will be loose 24/7 too. |

Bailey spends about 2 hours a day in his crate, because he is still only 5 months and I put him there while i shower, make beds and what not. (Not completely housebroken, so cannot watch him at those times) Both of my boys sleep at night in their crates as well, other than that he is at my feet the whole time. |
MY boys are also loose 24/7 |
24/7...they are seldom contained. |
When we were house training Sully as a puppy, he was confined in his kennel whenever we left the house - which was a lot. Not a cruel amount, but a lot. Once he was pretty trained, we would "confine" him to the bathroom whenever we were gone so maybe about 3 hrs a day. Now that Sully has zero accidents, and he runs free 24-7. Well, in the house or the studio or wherever we are ;) |
Coco is only confined to my dinning room and kitchen area while I'm at work. It's a big area so she has plenty of play space. Once I get home she has full access to the whole apartment. She gets too nervous when I gave her run of the house. I came home to chewed up carpet corners and a shaking and miserable ball of fur :( She's happier in small spaces when mommy is not home |
Cindy has had the run of the house pretty much 24/7 since we got her. We started out gating her in the kitchen or bathroom with potty pads. Once she learned to use them, she has had the run of the complete house, even when we're gone. There is almost allways someone home with her though, even when hubby and I are gone my 15 year old son is usually there. I would rather confine my animals to an area, than a crate when potty training. Once they are trained and house has been puppy proofed, I dont see any reason to even confine them to a room. I guess I just dont like crates.:) |
Sophie is only crated for about 7 hours a night. The rest of the time she has the run of the house even when we go out. The only reason we crate her of a night is because she is such a bed hog. |
Kobe is only crated at night (his choice). He perfers the crate to my bed:( He is only crated during the day if no one is going to be home for several hours. Kali right now is crated when we have to leave the room because she is so small. During the day she goes to work with me and stays in an x-pen. |
tye and zac are loose 24/7 but i put them in my bedroom when i go out, brandi is loose all the time when im in but is put in a crate when i go out as she chews but i put the crate in the bedroom with the boys, and annie is loose 24/7 and then when i go out i put her in the lounge on her own as shes a bully to the others lol. |
Katy has the run of the dining, living room, kitchen and outside (doggie door) 24/7. (okay I hit the cry in error and there is no script in here to remove it) |
Cali is only crated when I am gone and my dtr or husband aren't here. It's usually 2 hours a day. |
Malibu is gated in the laundry room for about 2-6 hours a day. Maybe more on weekends when we go out. Right now my husband works evenings so It works good. |
Bridget gets full run of the house 24/7 |
buttercup is loose about 23 hours a day. he has a free run of the house, except upstairs. |
Lucy has the run of the house 24/7 and if I do decide not to take her with me on an errand when the weather is too hot etc..she is free to rome the house...even now with Milo our new male addition @ 9months old. Since Milo is new if I leave them he wears the belly band.:aimeeyork |
Gus is loose all day. But he does go in his small crate at right next to me. He goes just about everywhere with me but on those very few and rare occasions that I have left him home he is confined to the the family room where his big crate is with his food, water and a nice comfy pillow. |
Jazzie has the run of the house 24/7. Jewel, because of her illness, stays with either me or Dan most of the time. If we have to leave her home, (2 hours tops - no exceptions) she is restricted from all the rooms except the kitchen and living room where its safe for her. |
Holly has free run of the house when we are home. She is in her X-pen when we are at work/school/Uni--about 6hours at most ,but not every day.So she is free 18+ hours a day, more at weekends. |
Dennis is never confined unless I am bowling, then I leave him in the bathroom with food, water, and his blanket. I just feel it is safer, though now that he is older I would allow him to have the whole house, but he will never let me out without a fight. He runs right with me to the door, gleefully screeching, bobbing up and down waiting for me to leash him, so before I have to disappoint him, I put him in the bathroom. |
