I happily got to chose Bella's name because the BF and my daughter had chose the cats name (Sasha and Peanut) and Whisper we adopted so she was already named... So it was my turn. :) I wanted either Ella, Elly, Emily, or Emmy and my BF kind of sneered at those but then I said Bella and he seemed fine. :D Her middle name is Hope (that's what the breeder had originally named her). Katy is named after Hurricane Katrina. I got her because my husband was gone so long helping down there. I wanted something good to come out the hurricane. |
My son picked out 3 names, Buttercup, Chubby, and Nemo. He eliminated Nemo because it was a fish. On the way home from getting him, my son was eating a Reese's Buttercup and accidently dropped it and said I dropped my buttercup and that's when 'Buttercup' fell off the back seat and so we named him Buttercup. |

Princess Peach's name I heard the name clementine. I loved it so when we decided that we were going to get a female I told my husband I wanted to name her Clemintine:) He says...:confused: "like the fruit? why don't we just name her apple or peach" Just then my 3 year old son piped up and goes, :thumbup: "Ya peach like Princess Peach off Mario Bros.(video game)" I knew she would be treated like a princess;) so we decided that was what it was :D |
My first Yorkie name was Madison Grace.....Madison for Madison Sqaure Garden ( We love the Knicks and the Liberty so there home arena was appropriate) and Grace cause it was pretty. Gracie got her name in a necessity meets cute meets coincedence kinda way. The morning that we picked Gracie up we were watching Miss Congeniality and of course the main character's name is Gracie Lou Freebush and Madison's middle name is Grace so there you go! Gracie Lou..... ( other names that were tossed around were Becky and Abby) When Gracie gets a sister I am going to lobby for the name Cameron ( after Cameron Indoor Stadium) and call her Cami |
kirby is my husbands nickname.....he was (still does) vacuum all the time and he named muffy....unknown why. so my husband named both of my dogs (oops..our dogs) |
Kobe - because we were Laker fans Tyne - combination of my husband and sons middle name. Ty off the one sons middle name and ne off of husband and other sons middle name. Birdy's lil rascal - birdy is nickname of daughter and he is lil and he is a rascal. Now I am searching for a little sister to Kobe and we have all agreed on a first name we just need to figure out the rest. |
We had just gotten a Malibu boat. That and a yorkie are two things we had been wanting for a long time. So Malibu seemed appropriate. It's also just very cute and unique I thought. |
We had a list of about 20 names..so my son and I took turns crossing off the one's we didn't want...It came down to Fagan and Toby..so we called my other son who was on vacation with his friend's family and we took a vote...We ended up with Fagan...something different... and it seemed appropriate..It's Irish ( we are Fitzgeralds) and it means "firey and small" .... :animal-pa :animal-pa |

Whenever I would tell my husband something he had done that day, I'd say "the one with the white chest hairs". That got to be too much of a mouthful, so I called him "chest hairs". Well, when I lost my beloved “Raisin” I waited almost a year because I insisted on a girl whom I was going to name “Jasmine”. Out of a choice of 3 females, different breeders, 1 had hydrocephalus though seemingly healthy, while the other 2 did not survive. I was so devastated that I felt I could not wait another second, minute, hour, day, month, or year that when I found a healthy male with everything else I was looking for I totally conceded! At any rate, since I had only girls names I decided on Dennis because he was such a menace! So he became my little “Dennis The Menace”. He has since calmed down a lot and is much like my little girls before him, though you don’t replace them you just love another! |
scampi cos he scamered about,sasha cos ive always liked the name and it suited her,tye cos when he was born the cord was around his neck just like he was wearing a tie,zac cos when he was born sasha never broke the sack he was in and i couldnt call him sack lol so zac sounded the same and suited him,brandi was named bubble at the rescue centre but she never came to it anyway so i went through loads of names and she came to brandi,and annie already had her name when i got her. |
My son named Jeter after #2 Derek Jeter from the NY Yankees. He is a huge fan. Everybody loves the name since it is rather original. |
I am completely obsessed with the shows "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel", so it made sense for me to pick a name from the show. I had lots of girls names picked, but I ended up getting a boy. There weren't too many guy names from buffy that I wanted, I considered: Spike, Oz, Wesley, Giles, but none of them seem to fit. So it ended up Parker. For those of you who watch the show, Parker was a small character in season 4, Buffy's first college "fling". So even though he wasn't a well-known character it's still "technically" a name from the show,lol. And Parker suits him now |
My Mayzie's registered name is Mayzie Grace Madoka Shadey We call her Mayzie. I was pouring over dog name sites trying to come up with the perfect name. I had decided on Mayzie but before I could say anything my husband proudly stated "I know what we can name her--Shadey" I was like :eek: ! Our last name ends with shade so he thought shadey would be cool. It took me a long time to convince him of allowing me to get another yorkie. We were at the time a house with no inside animals and he liked that. It was a long process so I didn't want to dash his contribution to harshly. So anyway I decided on Mayzie Grace because it was because of God's "'mazin grace" that I was able to bring this Madoka (japanese for Sweet one) home to live with me Shadey (part of our last name) I know my explanation was lengthy. I didnt think about names before i saw her, i figured, we are going to "look" at the pups and i didnt want to get my hopes up, when i saw her it wasnt hard, the name Chelsey came to me, the breeder asked us what we would be naming her and i said without a doubt "her name is "Chelsey" ... she was our first Valentines gift to each other after we got married. Chelsey came to us in feb. 2005.:) For our first wedding aniversary on 14 may 2005 we gave each other Chanel, we wanted a name that started with Ch to go with Chelsey, my husband uses "Antaeus aftershave by Chanel" and i used Coco Chanel when we got married :) |
Josie May....... Because we had two cats at the time, and my daughter like the singing group "josie and the pussycats." So we have Josie and the pussycats at home! :clapsmile Her middle name is may because we got her in the month of May. :daisy: |
My Yorkie is Chewbacca When we first got Chewie we waited for 3 days trying all kind of names on him. But we kept thinking he looked liked Chewbacca from Star Wars. So it finally stuck and it really fits in more ways than one. He is constantly chewing on things and he still looks like Chewbacca, even with his summer cut and furry face!! |
out of all my pets i have only named one Little Girl my husband named (yorkie/pom) Orginally i picked Darla it didnt stick My husband had a lab mix named Hammer when we met, the name just fit My husband named Magnum but of all the P.I. work we didnt to find the breeder we got little girl from (we didnt keep info from before) And REMMIE is the only one i have Named remington blue steel is the ckc name. i named him after a rifle/gun because it was along the same lines of magnum's name and that we i will always think of him when i say remmie Ohh i did name my rott (long time ago, dont have him anymore) Diesel, i thought that was pretty cool |
