Tori hurt Candi, accident or intenetional ? Troi and Candi were on the floor playing and I was brushing Lexi, I got up to get some iced tea. When I walked back into the livingroom Tori kinda tossed Candi and was pushing her. Candi couldn't stand up. I hurried and grabbed her, she wasn't breathing and almost lifeless. I started doing the mouth to mouth thing. I sat her down to see if she could stand at all and she could stand for a second and then would just lay down.(which was a little better cuz she wasn't falling over anymore) I wrapped her in a blanket and took her to the animal hospital. By the time we got there she seemed totally back to normal but had her checked out anyway. They said she was fine and believe she just had the wind knocked out of her. Now my biggest concern is Tori. I really want and am hoping Tori was just playing but she kept pushing Candi and kinda tossing her with her nose even after Candi couldn't stand up. Was she trying to hurt Candi or was she just playing and got to rough? PLEASE reassure me my sweet baby wouldn't intentionally hurt Candi. I am really worried. |
aww Tricia I'm sorry! that must've been really scary! :( I\'m POSITIVE that Tori would never hurt Candi on purpose. she was probably just playing and got a little too rough. |
Thanks Megan, I was so scared. Tori is a wild child and sometimes a pain in the butt. However I can\'t imagine her being mean. |
Opps, sorry I just realized, in my title I spelled intentional wrong...:p |
My thoughts on this is that the playing just got too rough! I don\'t think Tori was trying to hurt her little sis! What a scary thing for you to go through! I hope it\'s a one time incident! |
Thank you, I am so glad you feel the same way. Tori is so different than any yorkie I have ever had or known. She is a little monster but so lovable and cuddley. |
Oh my!...you must have been scared, I\'m sure it was just rough play, I am glad she is ok. |
It sounds like the nosing was her way of trying to get her to get up and play. I am sure it wasn\'t on purpose or you would have caught them at it. |
Tricia try not to be too worried but I would supervise her for a while.I had the same problem with prudence with my jack russell milo she would be playing with prudence and then the game would turn a bit rough and milo would start shoving her pecking her and being really ruff but she still loves prudence and as prudence has got older she is starting to hold her own, just keep an eye on things and it could be a bit of sibling rivalry. |
I agree with sam&deesmom Quote:
Sorry for your fright. Good thing you know the mouth to mouth thing! Nicely done! |
Thanks everyone and Candi and Tori will not be left alone together for a very long time... |
Oh Tricia - I\'d have FREAKED seeing her not moving but I honestly think Tori was trying to wake her up ! I bet she knew something was wrong and was trying to help.....Is she ok today ? Playing and eating normally ? Poor little tiny girl - that\'s very very scary !! Sending her lots of smoochies !!! |
accident As much as we love and adore these Yorkies..the fact is they are still animals with animal instincts. This may well have been an accident, since you did not hear any fighting. I would just watch them...I was talking with another YT member last night and 3 of her girls had a night fight..it really scared her. My Kate\'s mother, Charlotte is about the sweetest, most loving Yorkie on the face of the earth, ask Whispersmom...BUT let Ruby walk into the room and it is all over..she hates her guts...and Ruby is a wonderful Yorkie...so they live in two different home. |

Villette, I think you are right, I was replaying the whole thing last night over and over. Tori kept pushing her but she did push her right to me. I think Tori was trying to help her. I will still be monitoring their play for awhile. This morning Candi is back to her self and Tori has been following her around and just watching her. Tori hasn\'t tried to play with Candi at all. |
I truly think it was an accident too and that Tori sensed something was wrong too and just trying to get her to you. What a scary night you must have had. Is Candi ok now? HAs she eaten, is she drinking water? How are they with each other now? OMG, the feeling you must have had. I am sooo sorry. I don\'t think anything was intentional and it was all in playing and just got a a little out of hand. Hugs to you and the girls. I bet ya need them! |
