how much is that doggy in the window the one with the waggerly tail how much is that doggy in the window i do hope that doggys for sale la la la la :p lol sorry i got a bit carried away :D . ive just seen another post about how pricey yorkies are and i was wondering how much you all paid for your yorkies or what the normal price for a yorkie is? in the uk its about 350 to 450 pound for a yorkie i would say. i paid 200 pound for scampi back in 1988 but he had 5 champs in his pedigree, sasha was 165 pound in 1992 with one champ in her pedigree, tye and zac were free as they are scampi and sashas pups, brandi was from a rescue and i paid 70 pound for her and annie was free as her owner couldnt keep her anymore. :aimeeyork |
Prices vary according to state. The average price in Houston is $1,000 for females but I've seen them as low as $700. With males, I've seen them as cheap as $550. All are with papers and no champion backgrounds. Dogs are much more expensive in places like California where you can easily spend up to $4,000 with no champion back ground. It all depends mostly on size and quality. |

Or you can rescue them and have FREE babies :) Hallie and Simon were both free (I did donate to the animal shelter for Hallie). I realize how lucky I am so don't think I take that for granted :) |

Lola was $1000. She was purchased in San Jose, California. :) |

I actually sold a pup that now lives in California. The lady flew into Houston and had her son-in-law come and pick up the pup. It was cheaper for her to fly in and get one of mine than to buy from a breeder in California. |

My husband and I have been "Yorkie shopping" since last August LOL We found that Canada was MUCH more expensive then the states. That is why we are getting Peach from Mishigian. And the fact that the Canadian dollar just hit an all time high (since like 1978 or something) She is even cheeper LOL! But really, around here you are looking at $1500.00 Candaian for a "pet quality" dog with papers. AND pet stores (not that that was ever an option :thumbdown )are retarted with prices! |
How much is that doggie in the window? I paid $1,500 for my Daisy with multiple champions and champion sired. Around here i would say that would be on the higher end for a yorkie. |
I found a breeder through a trading/selling paper in my area. The breeder was about 2 hours away but she didnt' know how to use a computer so local papers wer her only option. She had an almost 2 pound female she was asking $750 for and my Oscar was the biggest of the litter at 3 pounds. We paid only $250 for him. Bigger was better for us and we just fell in love when we saw him. The breeder was having trouble finding a home for the female the area she is in just isn't the kind of place where many people are going to pay that much for a dog. He's registered CKC and had his first shots and worming. the price we paid for him was much less than the yorkie rescues were asking to adopt. |
California is definitely more expensive when buying a yorkie. I think it is supply and demand. There are many people here who want a small dog and they are willing to pay a lot. Lola was cheap compared to most yorkies I have seen for sale. We did not care if she had papers or not. I just wanted a puppy. A lot of people want them small or as many people call it a "teacup." I realize that this is not necessarily healthy. I wish Lola would grow more even though she is a desirable size to most people. |
