the resues close to here were charging $400 and up. If they charged any less than that there was a huge waiting list but I still didn't find one charging less than $300. |
The price range here in the states is ridiculous. There are teeny tiny dogs advertised for over $10,000 ( no I didn't add too many zeros), and you know they can't be healthy. But unsuspecting people who know nothing about them, will pay it I guess. But if you shop around, you can find them for under $500. I paid $850 for Ollie, and $1500 for Chachi. There don't appear to be any rescue yorkies available in this area. Last time I checked, there was a waiting list. |
Chachi was $600 and Jewels was $1200. The going price for My area is about $800.00 though. |
I paid £500 for Daisy over here in the uk but she was worth every penny :D |
We paid $850 for Hobbs here in Alabama. We got a REALLY good deal! He is from a champion bloodline on his father's side. He is very healthy and has stayed really small...he is barely breaking 3 lbs!! I think we're getting another one from Hobbs' same parents, who are having another litter due any day now!!!! |
When searching for my first yorkie, I looked all around my area (Richmond, VA) and there really weren't any breeders around here...but out near my in-laws (in Tennessee) we found quite a few. We got Yogi, he's CKC, had all his shots and deworming up to date, we paid $650 for him. Dixie, who will be coming home in a month :cheer: , is AKC, all shots and deworming up to date, and we are paying $800 for her, which my husband's jaw dropped at the cost. I think it's near to impossible to find an AKC female for that price!! |
Here in Quebec, prices vary a lot. I got Nuki for $750 CDN and she is registered to the Canadian Kennel Club. But while I was looking around I could see that prices could go from $600 CDN to $3000 CDN. Those that were closer to $600 CDN were usually not registered and those that were closer to $3000 CDN were those tiny teacup yorkies (which I would never buy, knowing all the health problems those tiny ones might have). "Pet quality" dogs registered to the Canadian kennel Club can be found for $1000 CDN to $1200 CDN. If you want to be able to show/breed the dog the price will double or even triple. |
Cali was 1500.00 in Illinois. |

Juliet... Juliet was a higher priced baby from a California breeder. She was a donation baby who was 10,000.00 to raise money for hurricane Katrina animal victims and a gift to me with the donation in my name. She is my tiny treasure. I don't know what she would have sold for but I think having had her this long I would have paid whatever they were asking if the situation were different! ;-) ~Tru |
My Tinkerbell was $200.00 in South Korea and that is about the average, males can go as low as $150.00. She doesn't have papers or anything like that but I really don't care, she is sooooo beautiful and papers wouldn't make a difference :p :p. |
My wee girl was $400 NZ. She is a Silky/Yorkie cross so has no papers, but her breeders were more concerned about getting god homes than making money. All other Yorkies and Silkies here range from $800-$1500 NZ. |
