Does dogs have souls? I just want to ask a question that Im not sure, so I wanted to seek help to my question. Does dogs have souls? Any Bible verse related to this? Serious answers appreciated. |
yes A while ago Pope John Paul II had anounced that animals have souls and it is our responsibility to care for them properly. I can't remember where I read that but I had passed it on to all of my catholic relatives. I've worked with animal communicators, and yes I believe they have souls and I believe in reincarnation as well (long story). I believed that animals have souls before I ever talked to an animal communicator. I didn't need anything to prove it to me and I was brought up catholic. suz |
But I still have doubts, because one of my pastors told me that animals don't have souls, and they also told me that when they were created, they were not breathed with a living soul by God although they were blessed by Him. But for us humans however, God did breathe the living life into us. But still, thanks for the answer you gave. I greatly appreciate it. Anyway, Im a christian. |
I'm serious when I say this. YES They have souls. Sorry I can't quote the bible but I truly believe this. It's some HUMANS that I worry about....many don't have souls. If they did ...they could never do the things they do to animals & other humans out of cruelty.....there are some EVIL people in this world. There are NO evil animals. |
Disclaimer - I don't count Fleas, parasites and ticks when I said NO evil animals - I DO wonder what their purpose is on earth. |
I can not believe a loving God would not let the animals that bring such joy here on earth....not be allowed to join us in the hereafter. It's paradise, correct? My paradise would include animals. :) |

Some of my friends told me that dogs are very dangerous as they can attack people without any warning. |

PEOPLE are NOT born with the instinct to attack. So when you see murders, cruelty and other abominations - that was a personal CHOICE...where as a dog relies on instinct. There's a BIG Difference. Interesting thread though. |

And oh, I had heard some news in the past that owners train their dogs to kill, I think that is very horrible. Don't you think so? |
LOL...ANOTHER disclaimer since I couldn't edit. There ARE some people born evil and with the instincts to kill. Take Ted Bundy....although they were driven by their OWN fantasys....many people really are born already programmed to kill. That's what I consider EVIL Whereas animals don't kill based on fantasy or thrills - it's plain simple instinct.... and yes - too many people train their dogs to guard their homes or just plain want a mean dog. I totally disagree with this kind of training...but again - you can't blame the dog if it's been trained to attack. |
Not a doubt in my mind and here are many quotes from the Bible showing animals have souls. http://www.all-creatures.org/murti/tsnhod-08.html Catholic explaination http://www.all-creatures.org/ca/ark-186soul.html Here is a book you might want to read: The souls of animals. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/188...lance&n=283155 Another recommended book: When Elephants Weep http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/038...lance&n=283155 |
When Elephants Weep is an EXCELLENT book. I loved it!!!!! I recommend everyone run out and find a copy a read it. Then make someone who doesn't exactly love animals read it. If they don't want to read it, hit them over the head with it. (JK) |

Someone once told me that "dogs can't go to heaven." I totally disagree. I think that everyone's heaven may be different. Like their own personal utopia. My heaven will include animals because frankly, I like them more than most people. :) |

WHAT!!! NO DOGS IN HEAVEN!!! Then I'm not going. |
Curious!!! what happened to the person that started this thread. Or am I not allowed to ask??? |
JeanieK, I just started a thread because I have noticed that some people have been banned in the past. Not unlike the person who started this thread. |

Villette, I have a theory on this. Since God created us all, he had to have created evil people also. I believe that we live many lives. And that we learn different lessons each time we are here. For people who are just down right evil and have no consicience, I believe it is their first time around, they have not yet learned compassion. Then there are those people that are just so nice, they never say a bad word aobut any one, they always see the good, and they would never do anything to hurt anybody. those peole are very close to getting their wings. I believe life is like going to school. We choose what we want to learn, and we are born into a setting that will teach us those lessons. And the lessons gradually get more and more difficult as we get closer and closer to graduating. I also believe that being rich or gifted, is a much harder lesson than being poor. God gives people wealth and talent to see what they will do with it. He does not give it to them because he liked them better than he liked anyone else. Just what I believe. I'm interested in hearing other views Maybe I should start a new thread with this one. |

This is only my GUESS. and I STILL think Dogs DO go to Heaven. No one could convince me differently - and JeanneK - COOL POST - that was interesting |
In the Christian, King James Bible the scriptures tell us there will be a new heaven and new earth...meaning, after the final judgement God will recreate the earth as He did in the beginning...and what did He make first in the Garden of Eden..THE ANIMALS..so He will replendish the earth and Heavens with all His beloved creatures.. I, for one do not believe God creates anything evil, God has no hand in the evils of the world...all of us come into the world innocent..we grow up and by human choice we decide who we will serve as Master. It is our free choice to be good or evil...as far as I know most all world religions like Christian, Jew, Muslin, Buddist agree man is evil by his own hand. |
I Know that they do....i just know...my animals look at me...and i just know they have...i cant expalin it....i have to say that their is no bad dog in this world...just bad owners...if a dog is not trained from day one, they dont know what is right and wrong.... And as for them going to heaven...i hope they do...does anybody know the song "Old Shep?" Well thats where i want to go.....and if it not there, i am not going!!!:-) If Elvis said, then i have to believe it :-) |

My 7 year old son came home from school one day (a christian school I might add) and he was upset because his teacher had told him that animals do not go to heaven. He was upset because our beloved Chow had died 2 years ago and he still gets sad about him being gone. I have always told him that Bear is in heaven and that has comforted him (and me). I was not real happy that the teacher had told him that. I told him that is her belief but that I believe Bear is in heaven. I told him how can she know that he isn't! |
Question: Do dogs have Souls? Answer: Yes. |
I say Yes , they have a soul . |
The physics, John Edwards, Sylvia, etc. all say that yes our animals are in heaven with us. I know, when I lost my yorkie Ginger last summer I knew that she would be in the arms of our daughter we lost in 2003. Somehow, just thinking of them together with the shelties we lost along the line makes me feel somehow comforted. Sarah and Ginger were very close. |
I agree with you Quote:

He posted in another thread about the Simple Life. I wonder why he was banned. I don't see anything offending. PS. I'm soooo nosey! :tongue4: AKA bizee body :bee: |
I don't know if I believe animals actually have souls. I believe God created animals and he loves them and they will definitely be in heaven. There are some passages in the Bible that talk about animals in heaven. For instance, the one about the lamb laying down with the lion. I also believe heaven will be the most wonderful place. More wonderful than we can even imagine and we will be happier than we have ever been. For many of us, our animals would need to be there for us to be that happy and to make heaven such a wonderful place. Animals are born innocent and they love unconditionally. God would not exclude them from heaven. They are his creatures. However, we are given a soul so we may choose between believing in God and choosing him and eternal life in heaven or rejecting God. I don't believe animals have the capacity to choose God. I also believe some people are very, very evil. However, I don't know if they are born evil as God gives us all the choice to be good or bad. Some people choose to be evil. They seem to enjoy it. The devil also has power here on earth and some people choose him as the ruler in their lives. |
