Pm I will contact you privately.. |
I hope I did not come across as accusatory toward you...that was not my intent at all. As I see the situation, the original purchaser of the dog is the one who has alot of explaining to do...I'm sure that the breeder will do what she sees fit in that circumstance. I wish you and the little one all the best. |
My dog is not pregnant. She isn't going to Dr.Tobias. We are just lucky enough that she will review the results of all her tests and write her reports on my reports with all her knowledge she will add her thoughts to paper. Sorry for the confusion but this is nothing to do with being pregnant, spayed or not spayed. Its just only has to do with a LIver Shunt. |
That has been one heck of a situation you have been through. Glad she isn't pregnant and hope you will be getting her spayed as soon as she is stabilized. Actually your post and experience has a little bit of a teaching element to it from the point of view of being very careful if you are not buying directly from a breeder but from someone who bought from a breeder and now is reselling. Before anyone should ever entertain doing that, the best thing to do is find out where the dog was originally purchased, name of the purchaser and get in touch with that breeder let the breeder know a Yorkie she sold is being resold. Some breeders aren't going to care but many do. There are contracts from breeders that do not allow resale or giving a Yorkie to another party. If you are the buyer from someone else who bought it you could lose your dog with no restitution to you from the original breeder, you would have to chase down the person you bought it from and get your money back from them. Would it all stand up in court? Well, a breeder with that kind of contract would already have the info that it likely would and wouldn't hesitate to haul your butt into court to get the dog back or at the very least be sure your home would be deemed acceptable to the original breeder for you to be able to keep the dog and there would be no question that the original breeder with that kind of contract would go after the original purchaser and enforce all aspects of the original contract. I have no idea if the original breeder of your dog had such a contract but that is something that exists that any buyer should be aware of. |

In that thread it sounds as though it was a planned breeding. Either way the reason this thread got you more questions than comfort is you requested help figuring out what to do about the breeder. In order to offer advice, understanding the purchase was where we had to start. I am very glad your dog is not pregnant and I wish you and her the best. |
Well, you are NOT alone Quote:
Hello there....I have read and reread your postings as well as the reponses.....and I want to let you know, you are not alone I understand what happened and how unfortunate it has all turned out for you.....you don't have to be a rocket scientist to see who was really at fault here.....it goes back to the original buyer.......and shame on the breeder for not taking ownership......my question regarding ethics....and testing for LS....doesnt the breeder need to test her own stock...or even the puppy before selling her to the original buyer?????? probably too young....I need to read up on this..... maybe not, but still yet.....don't try and tell me that this has not presented before in her breeding......"born at night.....just not last nite".....sound familiar.... I believe everyone on here was not BORN...being experienced in breeding and knowing everything about everything.....I am sorry that you feel that this board is not what you want it to be.....a place to learn from others, to express our opinions without condemnation and to be among friends... lets all remember that. I am really sorry for the fact that you feel that you are really alone, when you were looking for comfort.......... |
Thankyou Thankyou so much for your post. Saleswman You can test for Liver Shunt as early as 8 weeks my Specialist told me so the answer to that is yes. I am so glad you took the time to post |
Sometimes we just need someone to listen I knew you were not asking for advice......but, sounds like you got a lot of it......I would imagine that sometimes we all get caught up in our own opinion....and forget that most of what we all are looking for here....is to have somewhere to go......and .................. ...Sometimes you just need someone to listen....... I may not know much yet about Yorkies.....but, you know what....that is what they told me about selling drugs....16 years ago.....and I am still doing that....quite successfully I might add...... So, if you want to talk drugs....let me know....ha ha ha ha ha ha We all have value.....remember that....regardless of what choices we make.... You can count on me anytime.......:):) |
lucys live shunt I belive as a breeder that all breeders have to stand by their dogs if someone called me saying they had one of my dogs with proof i would want to know no matter what and i would take that dog and pay back what ever i got for her or him this is just ridiculous for a breeder to hide behind a contract of her being spayed or nutered when this has nothing to do with a liver shunt i stand behind my dogs no matter what when someone can prove one of my dogs has a genetic problem you can bet i will do what ever it takes to make this right i belive this breeder is just making excuses for the first lady not spaying her i dont think i have the right to make anyone spay a dog and hold the papers if you dont want your dog breed you put limited rights on the dog or spay it yourself some dogs are just to tiny to spay i would be afraid to put them under so i belive this breeder is just pushing this under the carpet so she dosnt have to be responisble for this i have help all my customers be it small or big one yr or 2 yrs if i can help i help if its my pups they are like my babies and would never put anyone thru this expecially a genetic problem this is just terrible who cares who has the dog and what the contract says i can make any contract to read anything i want that dosnt mean it is lawful contracts are made to be broken if the law is on your side and just because the first women couldnt keep the dog dosnt mean the breeder isnt responsible for a genetic problem a life threatening problem this makes no sense to me at all if someone came to me with a dog of mine i would try my best to help them fincially or what ever it took to make that dog well no excuse for this its a living being i make it i fix it thats how i feel about this situation |
