Harley and Davidson's Ears
 
I am new to this site. But I have 2 yorkies, Harley and Davidson, they are brothers and are 4 months old. But I cannot get their ears to stand up. Each of them has one that will stand up but the other wont. Will the other stand up eventually or do I need to do something about them? I do trim the hair off but I cannot find any tape that will stay on their ears. Thanks.

hi and welcome,, i had the same problem with my lexi, hers would do the same thing.. eventually they both stood up.. i was so happy.. i would say
both up at 8 months

My vet seems to think the taping is an old wives tale, but many swear by it so I don't know. My vet does recommend trimming the hair and massaging the ear tips. It's still not too late for them to stand. A lot of times they are up and then go back down at about 4 months because of teething.

I have another puppy Harry whose ears stood up and have stayed up after I shaved their backside.

I have heard of massaging them also. So I do that everyday now. They are just so cute when they stand up. I do shave the outside and inside of the ear. So hopefully they will stand up after awhile. Thanks so much

When i got Harley and Haley they fell and went back up again,,, so i am no help.. But i just wanted to say welcome and i love your babies names, i guess you like motorcycles too :D ???

Taping is awesome. Shave both sides of the ears and use scotch tape to tape them. You can find sites through google that show pictures of exactly how to do it. I have taped 2 yorkies ears and both times it has worked brilliantly.

Yeah we like motorcycles also. My boyfriend has 4 of them, so we ride whenever we can. Yeah I bought harley first and my boyfriend really liked him, the breeder had one left so he bought davidson. They love being together

Thanks princess zoe. I didnt know you can use scotch tape but I will try that also.

I love to ride, i hope on getting a real Harley next year, i took the test last year to get my motorcycle lisc. That's were i got my kids names to, My soon to be Hubby's last name begins with a D" so we got the HD in both there names, he is a Harley freak.....

I use to ride along time ago but never did go and get my license again cause I ended up selling my motorcycle. I am really sorry that I ever did that. But my boyfriend is going to help me learn again. but he says once you know how, you will always remember how to do it. So this summer i am going to learn again. We go to florida every year to the biketoberfest and I want to be able to ride by myself this year.

I know what you mean i can't wait to get a bike, but money tight this year, i want to get a cheap one to start with in case i dump it, i also have to get another helmet, ever since they passed the no helmet law i threw mine out. should of kept it..... Mike works long hours in the summer and he's usually tired when he gets home, so we just usually ride on the weekends, and i have a bunch of people i could go riding with.....

yeah we are going to look for me a older bike also, just in case I do dump it and just something to practice on, hopefully by october i will be able to ride one down there. Yeah we usually go on the weekends also.

Good luck on the bike search, i'm pushing for next year, Mike wants to get the kitchen and bathroom remolded this year, so there goes my motorcycle fund:( :( i always seem to get pushed back a year, one day i\'ll just surprize him when he comes home, i\'ll have my bike in the driveway
