Not sure about the silver puppies, would love to see a picture of them... I have been seeing the pictures of the blue puppies posted and it is not like the blue puppy I saw at a kennel. He Was Blue !!! There was no tan or black on him anywhere. Even his eyes & nose appeared to be of a blue shade and he was 4 months of age. Still healthy at that point, awesome coat at that time, this was over a year ago.... I should contact that breeder to find out how he is doing now that he is older.... |
i know this is a very old thread but i have a silver yorkkie as well..the mother and father are solid black bc i have the parents..is this a very odd thing to happen or can it be breed into the line? |

If you have enough post?? 5 or 10?? You go to post reply no post quick reply. The will be an upload icon. Think it looks like a paper clip |
I purchased two blue and gold Yorkie's. They are AKC regestered. As far as i know, there's no extra health concerns for my puppies. They were bread from two blue and gold Yorkie's. I have no clue how to research the health issues but i believe it's like the red haired humans. Its a rare genetic color they carry. My puppies don't show much blue atm, but they will they get older. There hairs are starting to change a little but they are only 17 weeks old. I can't post pictures as I'm not computer savvy but if you email me pictures I can email pictures of mine. They are silvery, gold, brown, and black haired, but I'll send a picture of dad for you to also look at. Kietian22@yahoo.com |

Colors Puppies are born black and tan and are normally darker in body color, showing an intermingling of black hair in the tan until they are matured. Color of hair on body and richness of tan on head and legs are of prime importance in adult dogs, to which the following color requirements apply: BLUE: Is a dark steel blue, not a silver blue and not mingled with fawn, bronzy or black hairs. TAN: All tan hair is darker at the roots than in the middle, shading to still lighter tan at the tips. There should be no sooty or black hair intermingled with any of the tan. |
My babies are only 18 teen weeks old. So they still have there puppy coats. I did just shave them down though. Jewels hair mated on her legs and she hates the brush. We will be brushing nightly now with a soft Brush. Since it won't hurt she should start to love it as Bella does. |
