Just bought 10 month old almost 2 pounds
 

Hi everyone! I just brought Tiffany home. She is beautiful. Just barely under 2 pounds. How much bigger do you guys think she will get?
Also, she hasnt eaten much since she has been here. Think she is just nervous? Im taking her for her check up today!

Congrats on your new little one...she sure is small. Looking forward to seeing pics. I would think that she is just adjusting. When I got Lex home that first night after his initial scope of the house he quieted down. He was a bit homesick for a day or two. Didn't eat as well as he should have. Fortunately for me he was 4lbs so I wasn't as scared as if he were much smaller.

i think she is probably as big as she is going to get. she may gain a few ounces, but not much. Can't wait to see pictures. Hope she gets a clean bill of health at the vets. Curious, what did you pay for such a tiny one?

My husband would kill be if he knew. Her owner says she had show mommas and daddys and champion blood. I didnt really care about that though. I guess that is why she cost so much. (I almost took out a loan! HA) Someone stole my little baby yorkie about 3 months ago and i had to have another one.

Hi and welcome to YT. Yes, it is critical that little ones like this need to eat 2 or 3x's a day. Make sure you get some Nutrical today at Petsmart so you can be careful of her blood sugar.

If you use the YT search bar and type in Nutrical you will see many threads about this product.

WELCOME! You need to be a little more careful with tinies. Keep food out at all times and use nutrical or nutristat. Hypoglycemia is not something to fool around with. Can't wait to see picts!

And yes! If your breeder did not send you home with Nutrical, you should run out and grab a FEW tubes! One for your purse, one for the car, one for the house... and one for anywhere you and that sweet little girl are going to spend lots of time together! low blood sugar is a big deal, especially for the TINY ones and yours redefines the word TINY! I say have one everywhere... cause if your counting on yourself to always have it with you... you'll be in big trouble... I have been caught without it a few times!! Very scary! And with your lil gal, you won't have time to run to leave the park and hit the Petco... Run to your car, Yes!


Wow!!! Congrats!! And I'll cross my fingers for you that hubby does not find out about the price tag.... I too have played that game more than once ;) What they don't know won't kill um.

There are lots of store owners on this site that hand make their clothes, so you are in luck! When it comes time to dress your little Tea Leaf... You can take measurements and have them made to fit!! Cause you'll NEVER find her size in a retain location. And you'll be surprised at how reasonable most of the dresses and other clothes are. Plus you can customize them! :p

Congratulations on your little one! My Jasmine was about 1 pound, 11 ounces at over 7 months old when I got her... I didn't think she was eating much either (how much do they really need?).... anyway.... I fed her by syringe for about a week ... some turkey/chicken baby food and some yogurt.... I think it was more for me, than her.... I just wanted to know she had something in her stomach.

She's 1 1/2 years old now and 2 pounds, 14 ounces... and eats loads!!!

Welcome...you have a 10 month old who is not 2 pounds, please be warned you have a tough road ahead to keep her alive and well. She is full gorwn and will need lots of TLC..make sure she eats..give her Nutra-cal and anything else she will eat..watch for stress and never allow her to have any bout of prolonged loose stools. Best wishes

A 2 pounds Yorkie do not eat very much . If she is healthy , don't be worry .

just got back from the vet, she says tiffany is very healthy and 2lbs. 4 oz.
Dr. Brenda says she wont grow anymore. Aww! She had to get some shots today also. Doc said not to worry about her not eating since she is so small she wont eat very much at a time. Gave me some nutracal to make ME feel better!

I saw her on the website she is adrorable. Glad she checked out ok at the vet!

Congrats..... I saw her on the site. She's a cutie! I have a little boy who is 2 years and 3 months and he weighs 2 pounds and 8 ounces. I just got a new baby girl and she is almost 3 pounds and 15 weeks and she is bigger than him! I love yorkies is all sizes! They are all cuties!

Congratulations! Yes, make sure you have nutri cal and that Tiffany eats soon. 2800 is not a bad price at all for one that small......I have tiny's who are like my daughters and priceless.....I have two show yorkies who are 5 pounds ( grown ) and I love them too.....they have big round eyes and their features stand out more than my bitty babies.......lol Its funny to think at one time I wanted only tiny, tint babies......I thought OMG 5 pounds!!! My best friend who also shows kept telling me I would love the peace of mind with the standard yorkie and their looks.........she was right, even though I have been truly blessed with the tinies I have being very healthey, until they reached over a year I was worried about everything I thought could go wrong. The 5 poundsers are like perfect size to hold, but they would get heavy toteing around all day. Anyway, enjoy your baby and know that if she is healthey you got a good price ( I feel ) . Curious, was it just a physical exam, or did you have the bile test done to rule out liver shunt? what shots were given? it seems like she should have already been given everything she needed at this age.
