Pics of Snoodles and her car seat Here are some pictures of Snoodles in her party dress, and her St. Pat's Dress that I made her. Also, here is the picture of the car seat that I made her for under $10.00. It is a plastic stool with a plastic desk paper holder bolted together, then added the pillow. A leash is attaached to the sides, and connects to her harness. You can move it around with those open slat sides until it fits right. The seat belt connects between the legs of the stool. It works really, really well, and is nice and tight in the car! Hope this helps! |
Well, I see that didn't work! You can go to my photo bucket and see them at: http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11.../Snoodles5.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11.../snoodles4.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11.../snoodles3.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11.../snoodles2.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11.../snoodles1.jpg [IMG]http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y111/mybirdys2003/Snoodles.jpg[/IMG |
Awww - that little dress is ADORABLE! You're so good at them! One of these days, I'll learn SOMETHING about sewing! ;) And that car seat? GREAT idea!! |
You are so creative and your baby is adorable! Congratulations! Love the carseat idea! It looks really comfy for a ride in the car! |
You are so creative! That dress with the bow is lovely. I have to get a car seat too. Yours looks really comfortable. |
Snoodles looks so adorable in her dress..:) Thumbs up to her very creative mommy:D |
How very cute!!!!! How creative!!!!! Luigi wishes his mommy was creative!!! (haaha) :animal-sm Mandy & Luigi :animal-sm |
Thanks everyone for the accolades! I love sewing dresses for her---not really hard at all. She loves dressing up too, seems to know she is our little princess! Now I need to dress up my birds! Ha! Pat |
Snoodles is so darn pretty in her dresses. And I give you so much credit with coming up with her safety carseat, how amazing is that?? |
Snoodles looks very sweet all dressed up. I love her little Spring frock!! She's a beauty! |
Thanks! The car seat works so good you wouldn't believe it! With the slots on the top bin, you can change the length of the leash whenever you need to. I just tied and tied the leash on it, and she uses her harness, and then just clip it to that! Yes, iloveyorkies! I love her little dresses. She loved her x-mas dress, and of course, as most know here, she made the front page of our home town newspaper! Am I proud, or what! Ha! Pat |
she is adorable :) i want a girl yorkie . i dont think scrappy would like it if i put him in a dress . :D |
What a sweetie, and a great idea!I like how she can see out the windows to. My Bridget is always complaining in the car because she doesnt like her travel bag. At least not while I am driving, she just loves to go out! |
You just gave me an idea for tomorrows project. You did a great job!! and what a cutie. |
great job you have totally inspired me to be creative. How about a small square laundry basket and make a skirt to go around it with slits in the back and then use belts and covered them to match the fabric around the basket and make them criss cross around the back of the seat and kinda tucked under the head rest. Now I just have to come up with a way to make it fit the back seat. hmmmm  |
The dresses you made for Snoodles are ADORABLE!! Do you have a pattern? I sew, but don't know where to get a pattern. I did download a patter off of the internet for a vest, but not a dress. I could sew matching ones for Tess and my sister's Maltese, Bitsy. Great job on the car seat as well!! I envy all of you who can put a bow in your babies' hair. Tess' isn't long enough yet and she won't sit still long enough for me to put one in. I hope that with a little growth I'll be able to put them on her. I think they look so cute with a bow. Let me know about the pattern! |
I thought of a laundry basket at the time, but they were not as sturdy, plus this makes it at window level and she loves to look out! Idenise! If you make one, be sure the stool has a bottom rung around the bottom. Some of them don't have a rung at all. I put the seat belt through there. I kbought all my supplies at K-Mart. I was afraid without the bottome rung on the stool that the seat belt might slip out. I was also afraid that maybe it would not be tight at the top after buttoning the seat belt, but that is not the case. Let me know if you make one! Sure is a lot cheaper and with the open bin, I can reach to the back seat and give her treats! I just like it better then a four sided one. Pat |

Oh yeah I would want it at window level to. kinda like this |
oh, I like that one to super cute, but will they stay in there. |
if you click on the pic you can see a little silver loop that you attach a short lead to. I found this on ebay for $53 but I think I could make it for a lot less... |
ok i got some supplies today to make the car seat. i couldn't get the exact same materials but......... i am gonna give it a try tomorrow and see what i come up with. i will keep you posted..lol oh guish like i haven't already got enought projects going.. my daughter says "you must have a lot of free time on your hands". believe me that is not the case. lol |
Idenise! It only takes about five minutes! Honest! Just drill four holes and put the bolts in, and that's it! I'm telling you it works really good! Let me know how it goes! Lexi's Mommy! That is a darling seat! The only thing I have against it is that you would have to keep it in the front seat, as the back seats don't have the head rests---at least mine don't! But it really is darling! One could cover the one I made also in a cute print, but I didn't! I like being able to lput stuff it. The price is a lot more reasonable then most of them, though! If I never had a husband who insists on riding in the front seats (Ha!) I would have made something like that! |
Mybirdys2003...what cute dresses and how beautiful she looks in them! Also, what a GREAT idea for a car seat. Lexismom...love your carseat! I think you said you found it on ebay? Wish I had found it first! I have got to get something for Molly to ride in. I don't take her out much because she is so young and hasn't had all of her shots, but the last time I did, she decide she wanted to ride on my shoulders! She sits up there at home sometimes when we are sitting on the couch and somehow climbed up there the other day. Luckily, we weren't going far, but I knew then I had to get something quick! I have to admit, it was kind of cute and sweet, but definately unsafe. |
Thanks Gingi! She is cute, huh? I know what you mean about her riding on your shoulder. That's what Snoodles wanted to do. But, the day she jumped in between my steering wheel spokes, that was the clincher. I was almost in a car wreck over that one. She got hung up and I couldn't really steer too well. I managed to go to the side of the street, and that was the last time she rode without restraint in the car seat! They are buggers, arn't they? Pat |
Gingi~I didn't buy it. I found it and after really looking at it I decided I could make it. The lady that made it has lots of different colors/patterns. Here is a link. mybirdys2003~I was thinking the same thing, so I decided if I was to make it I will make the frame a lot taller so that under the basket I could make some kind of storage drawer and that way the seat belt can lock it in instead of the thing that goes around the headrest.(hope that makes sense, I can imagion what I'm talking about but can't really explain it) |
3 Attachment(s) ok her goes .. i did make the car seat. i still haven't tried it out yet. tomorrow maybe. i couldn't find the solid plastic storage bin. i had ot get a wire one. which i thought they would get their feet caught in so i made a larger pillow by using an old pillow case and sewed some old shoe strings on to tie it to the bin. stuffed it in the really soft craft stuffing. i drilled holes in the bottom tote.( i couldn't find the stool so i bought a storage tote that had open handles to put the seat belt thru). and used the plastic ties that you buy for holding together wiring. i hope you can see it in the pictures. i bought the storage bins 2 for $5.94 and the tote for $3.97 everything else i used was already around the house. i am making another one but using a different technique for the padding. (more roomy for the bigger body of Ahia). Thanks for the idea and getting me into gear in making one. i been going to try making something for a long time now. |
Idenise, that looks pretty good! Should do the trick! The pillow looks a bit big, but might just be the picture. Too bad you couldn't find a plastic top bin. That way, you just put it on top of the stool, and drill four holes and bolt them together. I like your storage bin--It's also ;nice to have those slats on the back of the top, as one can really tie and retie a good leash wherever one needs it. I know I love mine. GOOD JOB! Pat |
no it is not just the picture the pillow is big but i made it that way on purpose because of the slats in the bin. i am going to give it another try when i find the right materials because it turned out to be too tall for my car seats. i didn't try it in my husbans truck yet but i will start over again and find the right materials. i sure needed it today. ahia was all over me trying to see out side. she loves it when we take the vet out with the top down. pure heaven for her. and her seat belt don't fit the belt in the vet it is an '86. (too old for the new attachments). I have to hold them both on my lap and hang on to the harnesses. we don't take it out often but when we do i have to come up with a way to protect them. |
The heck with the car seat---I want the vette!!!! Ha! Come pick me up and we will bring the dogs and maybe the boys will give us a wink! Ha! Pat |
How do you get them to like the car seat. Asia just cries when she is in hers. She is only 12 weeks old, but she has been riding in it every day for 4 weeks now. |
