| Feed or not to Feed Hi everyone, I want to start my little Chico in potty training. He is currently in my little girls old play pen. I just got him about a week in half ago. I have a dog couch on one side with his blanket and toys and the other side has a pee pad with his water and food. I want to start to potty train him to go outside will he be ok without his food and water over night? |

| The food will be okay, there is no problem in keeping a scheduled eating habits. As per water, in my opinion, it should always be available. Keep in mind that puppies cannot hold on for long periods of time, so i would really suggest taking him out to do pee-pee at least once during the night. | I never have food out at night. I also wouldn't recommend having their pee pad in the same area that they eat. You should have them in 2 totally separate areas. Others might disagree, but that's just me. |

Yorkie Lover Donating Member | We feed the girls for the last time at sometime between 5 and 6 and that is all they have for the rest of the night...that way we know they will more than likely poop before bed...we leave water out at all times but they don't drink alot at night, so that helps them hold it...but they only started sleeping all night once they became about 4 months....before that they had to get up and potty through the night...now they only potty occasionally at nighttime...this works for us...but may not work for you...just my opinion!!!
