Do you trim around the eyes or not Its getting that time to have Parker groomed. Do you guys have them trim around the eyes or let it grow until it lays down buy itself? Just wondering???? Thanks -Denise- |
I was going to grow it out til it laid down, but I just picked them up from the groomer today and she chopped them off. I am kinda thinking that its better to cut so the hair doesnt get into their eyes. I am interested to see what others say about this. |
I had never trimmed around Gracie's eyes and noticed that her eyes teared really bad. Then, when she was over 18 months old, I took her to the groomers and the groomer shaved her nose and cleaned up around her eyes. No more eye goobies. |
I always trim around my dog's eyes (three different breeds - with that long-growing hair around their eyes). But it is no easy feat to do - they are such little wiggleworms. Carol Jean |
A breeder (also a YTer) had told me not to trim any hair around their faces. |
I told my groomer to cut it, and its so much easier! It doesnt get so gunky with eye boogers any more! |
I trim my boys eyes.........much neater and not so many oogies. :) |
Sadie gets trimmed around her eyes, alittle. She hardly ever has goobers or tear stains. |
My groomer trims around Oscar's eyes...it is much easier to keep clean and all that hair does not get in his eyes and make his eyes tear as much. In between groomings I trim it with blunt end scissors to keep him happy. He just lays in my lap and lets me do it...he is a good boy. |
4 Attachment(s) Yes, we took her to the groomer a couple weeks ago and I asked them to clean up her face to where she could see. I kind of felt sorry for her. I don't put her hair up unsupervised so at night and when she is in the crate it is down and I felt bad that she couldn't see. She didn't really have enough to keep her hair up anyways. Here are her before an after shots. But the first pic was taken a couple months before, the others tonight so I could show you guys what she looks like. Oh yeah, and her big ham of a brother Bailey kept getting into the pic so Brandy laid down in the crate with a toy. Anyways, I think I like it. I can see her Precious Moments eyes better. She can fool anyone into thinking that she's a little angel. lol |
My vet told me to cut around the eyes cause Gypsy's eyes kept watering and had a lot of "gunk" around them. I put a finger over her eye while I did each one and she sat there really well while i did it. |
I grow Jewels hair out but the groomer trims the hair around the eyes when I have her groomed. |
I do. My girls are outside alot and play HARD. When I started trimming the hair that got in their eyes I noticed they stopped having watery eyes AND it opened up those cute faces.....Nothing like having those big brown eyes looking back at you :) I have a tiny trimmer that is about 1/4" head on it and just barely trim in the corners and under the eye. |
Thanks for all the info. I think I'll have it trimmed too. Parkers eyes do get goopy sometimes. I'm sure that will help. Thanks again!!! |
The groomer has always trimmed around Maggie's eyes, but this time they got a little carried away  with all their trimming I think. The groomer shaved from the nose to top of her eyes, she looked so strange for the first week but now just as cute as ever :luv: |
