Hi Treats, When your dog goes into labor and begins pushing check the birth canal very often, every couple of contractions. One of my maiden girls had her first pup like a pro, a very easy birth, immediately after she started with maybe 5 to 6 weak contractions. I thought she was working up to the hard contractions. Anyway when I finally checked her back end closely she had two tiny paws sticking out, just barely visible. The next puppy had to be pulled, his birth sac was gone and he suffocated. I truly believe if I would have pulled her tail up just as soon as the first puppy was born and checked very closely I could have saved this lil guy. |
They are here :) 3 girls and 1 boy. Everything went great. Annabelle has been such a good mommy. 3 of them weigh4.2oz and the runt weighs 3.2 oz. Of course they are so cute. I am concerned that they might not be getting enough milk though. Some seem to cry while they are trying to nurse. Is this normal with smaller breeds? Well thanks for all of the help previosly. |
Awww, congratulations on your new additions! Puppies! YAY! ;) I'm sure someone will know the answer to this! But I wanted to give you a big CONGRATS! |
congrats on the new babies wtg! Trust momma and mother nature but keep a close eye on their weight and make sure they are kept warm... The larger babies will be more aggressive and push away the smaller babies change positions regularly, if you still feel they are not getting what they should take a syringe and suppliment for a couple days. Congrats! WTG Annabelle |
