I'm obsessed with Yorkies I won't even have my Yorkie until this weekend, but I'm obsessed. I'm constantly on YorkieTalk, reading books, showing her pictures, talking about the dog. My kids are probably feeling neglected due to their mother's new love! Any of you have the same feelings? |
Yes. I am sick. I read Yorkie books instead of my school books and pull people at work over to my computer to show them pictures of the Stew. |
Totally! I used to get so annoyed when my boss constantly talks about her two daughters - and now I can't stop talking about my Mason and people are like "you're talking about a dog...???" |
Everyday my breeder sends me a new pic of Rylee, I print it and run around the office showing everyone, then I hang it on the fridge. I got new pictures of my son yesterday, brought it in to work, put it in a frame and there it sat. Once I realized this, I took the picture to show everyone. But still, it's bad. I'm sure my work wants to kick me. |
Just wait to you actually have him! You won't even want to go to work! |
....and proud of it!!!! My friends swear that I am obsessed with my dog. The just don't get it. *sigh* - But I'm happy to be "yorkie obsessed" - getting Sully was one of the BEST decisions we ever made! |
i was never really a dog person. my husband has his bernese and the kids love him too death. my husband had always wanted a big dog and had always had yorkies. i think he could tell that i was not impressed with a big dog so he started talking about how special tako was and how much his mom who wasn't a dog person loved him. he said yorkies were not like any other dog out there. well he was setting it up to bring home my sirius. well i am soooo in love with sirius now and could not think of life without him. the kids thought at first that i loved him more than them. they know differant now. sirius goes everywhere with us and he is only 12 weeks old. the hardest part was telling my husband he was right. by the way now my daughters want a girl for themselves. :D |
My good friend Teri reminded me that not long ago, I said "I'm just not a dog person." ;) I researched and bought the perfect family pet BUT she has become *my* dog in such a short period of time. I've even taken a leave of absence from work because I hate to leave her at home alone, even though I work part-time. My boss tells his clients that I'm on 'maternity leave'. :D |
...maternity leave...that's cute. You're lucky to have such an understanding boss. Yes, I'm Yorkie obsessed too, although I have 2 "human kids" and a husband and an 8 year old Schnauzer. I have to remind myself not to make over Bo and ignore the rest of the family!! BTW, kraekerr, where did you get the adorable avatar?? |
I was obsessed before I got Pita and I didn't even know where my dog was coming from! It got to the point where I couldn't think of anything else... I HAD to get a lil yorkie and nothing else was going to satisfy that craving! My problem was convincing my husband! Finally he gave in and now I'm just loving her sooo much. I thought maybe the reality wouldn't be as good as the fantasy, as sometimes is the case with obsessing on things we can't have, but that's not so with Pita!! She's everything I thought she'd be and more!! |
I don't think I'm obessed. Just because I wanted 1 yorkie and ended up with 4, does not make me obsessed. Okay, just because more than 1/2 of the things in my house belongs to my yorkies, doesn't mean I'm obessed( did I tell you I have painting, prints, and drawing of yorkies on my walls). So, maybe I do carry a purse with yorkies on it, my watch has yorkies on it, even my checks and credit card has yorkies on it. I have my yorkies on my computer screen saver and my background. At work, I have ton of pictures of my yorkies but none of my family. It still doesn't make me obessed. And when I go on vacation, its usually a dog show or dog related event(haven't taken any non-dog related trip for over 3 years). So I don't know why people think I'm obessed. :D |
Naw, you're not obsessed. Wait, did you say a Yorkie watch???? |

HA! I love it! I'm sitting here at my desk at work and my coworkers are wondering what I'm laughing so hard at, hahaha! No, we're NOT obsessed....even though my coworkers do notice that the words YORKIE TALK.COM are on the top of my iMac screen more than NewsEditPro IQue....oops! I'm NOT obsessed! |
I am soo obsessed! I miss Lucy when I am even just in a different room! My fiancee thinks I am crazy and so does everyone else! I am supposed to be writing my thesis at the moment but every 10 mins or so I have to check back to yorkie talk! Oh well if this site has taught me one thing its that I AM NOT ALONE!!!! :D |
1 Attachment(s) I, like YorkieAgility, am definitely not obsessed. Just because I have purchased three yorkies in the last four months and I am still looking for more!! That doesn't make me obsessed. Just because my dauhgter calls my Hefner the "Mommy Stealer"...Nah, I'm not obsessed. Because I figure out a way to do my job from home everyday so I can be with them doesn't make me obsessed and because I spend every evening on the computer talking yorkie and looking for yorkie goodies on line doesn't make me obsessed. My family thinks I'm obsessed...just look at my easter basket this year! It had two stuffed yorkies, a yokie license plate frame, a towel embroidered with a yorkie, yorkie wrapping paper, yorkie notecards, a yorkie key chain and a yorkie sweatshirt! |
Count me in with the obsessed. :D I became dog obsessed when I got my little Maltese and now I'm already crazy for Yorkies and I still have to wait a few more days for my puppy to get here! We are taking a trip this weekend and I had to make sure to get a super pet friendly hotel for my little guy to be welcomed. I spent hours online searching for hotels and stuff to do that I could take my Tuffy with me. We should have a special thread for pet friendly travel so we can comment on what hotels were great and which weren't! :) |
Okay, okay, I admit it. My name is Aimée and I'm a Yorkaholic! ;) |
Can't wait!! I am like krakerr. I can't wait to get my little Starsky this weekend. I am even nesting getting my house clean for the new dog to see!! Laundry is done and bills are paid. All my time will be spent with my baby. I wish Saturday was here now!! I even took 3 days off of work to be with my baby! A short Maternity Leave! Ha. HURRY TIME!! |
Wow, This is good to know that i'm not alone. I thought something was wrong with me . I too talk about my lil boy at work people are like "your talking about a dog" They saw a picture that i had at work and my boy had a lil shirt on . They just couldn't believe that i dress him. I don't think there is anything wrong with dressing a dog. All people do at work is talk about kids well, i don't have any kids right now and i'm doing just fine with my Yorkie. :) |
You are so funny! I enjoyed reading your comments.... |
Hey Kraekerr!! Let us see some of the picks your breeder sends everyday!! We love pictures, especially puppy pictures!! |
Obsessed!! Oh my goodness....I'm soo glad to hear that I'm not the only one with an obsession..(actually I have 2..yorkies and Desperate Housewives) But it is a relief to know that I have some friends in my crazy yorkie world! I'm so glad that we all found something in this world that could make us all so very happy! Yorkies are the best! Also, I can relate with StewiesMom.. I too have been reading yorkie books instead of school books, which is no good since exams are in a week and a half!!! AHHH!! |
