First Litter (Sophie) I am so excited. We have just found out our Yorkie Sophie will be having her first litter around April 23, 2006. We had x-rays and an ultra sound today and she will be having two pups. (Unless one is hidden). I have been reading every think I can get my hands on and the vet said she will be "on call" in case we need anything. All the staff in the vets office came into the room when Sophie was having her ultra sound....what a blessing...:) :) |
Congratulations to Sophie. I wish you the best of luck and an easy delivery. Where is LeClaire, I'm an Iowegan also. |
Welcome to YT . . Congratulations and Best Wishes on the delivery. Can't wait for pictures. |
Wow Congrats that sounds so exciting!! Please keep us updated on Sophie and the new pups!!! We defintely want to see pictures... |
Congrats to you and Sophie! :congrats: :bravo: Newborns are the best! We hope everything goes smoothly for you all...keep us posted!!! :D |
YEaaaaaaaaaaaayyy more babies ... |
Thanks to all. We are still walking on clouds. These are planned puppies. They will be staying in the family. Our male heritage is from Hungary. His parents were rescued in Kuwait by our friends while they were stationed there. We bought our female (Sophie) in Alabama from a private party. We will post pictures as soon as we have some. LeClaire is located along the Mississippi river. (20 miles north of Davenport, Iowa). We have an awesome view of the river from our living room. Its so relaxing. The pups like to watch the birds as they fly into the river to catch fish. We have bald eagles nesting in the trees by the river and they are so interesting to watch. Martie |
How exciting! Keep us updated! |
Congratulations. I will have Sophie in my prayers for safe and fast delivery. Please post pics when you can. The description of your home seems very nice and relaxing. :) Please keep us posted. |
Martie, I am sure you already know this, but those beautiful birds of prey can be fatal to our babies.. And, congrats on the up-coming litter. It is a bit early for sonos or Xrays cause the skeletons don't calcify til past 7 weeks. I would suggest another Xray for 2 reasons..the most important being the size of the puppies compared to the opening of mom's pelvis. And, of course, we love to know the number of puppies.... So, keep us posted!!!! |
Congrats on the up coming litter. |
Congrats!! Keep us updated :) |
Congratulations!!!!!! Get the camera ready, we will all be waiting!!!! :) :) :) :) |

:congrats: |
Hmmm, we had x-rays and ultra sound done. You could see the pups on both the x-ray and the ultra sound. |
I agree with you on bird of prey. Living on the Mississippi River we have all kinds of birds that feed on small animals....plus other little critters that roam the country side. We keep a very close eye on our yorkies when they go outside. We have a wood privacy fence around the back yard and that helps keep out the majority of outsiders. Of course the eagles and the hawks like little things and we have to keep a constant eye out for them. This past weekend we had the yearly migration of pelicans going north. They stayed for several days and then left. They were so pretty. |
Yay! Congrats! I bet that you are excited! I am hoping for a safe delivery! |
