Hi everyone!
I'm Brittie1234567 on YD, Mia's mom, and I've been working all
night because I decided we need to take matters into our own hands. I know
there are some great forums out there to use, including this one, but I know we all like the
format of YD and its hard to teach us new tricks! :-) Well I'm crazy so I made one! Its similar, not exactly the
same, its more like spoiledmaltese.com. Its got PM's and everything, it
doesn't have an album section but I'm working on it to get one! Hope you
like it, let me know what you think! I can always shut it down if no one
uses it, but I thought I'd give it a shot! ;-) Take a look:

It doesn't seem very appropriate to be trying to get (steal?) users from here to join your forum. The owners here have been very nice to all the displaced people from YD, even welcoming them with open arms (even when most of them just want to talk about YD being down). I've been to a few other Yorkie forums, and they don't even seem to be very nice, I even recall a message on an MSN one bashing this forum!

I'm not quite sure what the moderators think, but this just doesn't sit to well with me, to be promoting your own competing site on this site which is already successful, with quite a few active members. While it may not have as many members as YD, I enjoy hearing about everyone's Yorkies here and I like the atmosphere. And I've seen lots of questions being answered for new members. Plus, this site doesn't seem to have many problems keeping the site up. Just my two cents...

I didn't mean to offend anyone, and my intention was never to steal anyone away, this is a very nice forum. I enjoy reading your comments very much. I am not trying to compete, please accept my apology if it came off that way.

Hi Honey, boy we have some very talented people on YD, creating forums, starting their own business. I 'm always amazed at what can be accomplished with determination. I signed up a few minutes ago, it looked great. I know I'm new here but I guess I'm a huge fans of forums and the more the merrier for me. Take care :-)

I'm one of the "displaced people" from YD and I have been very glad to be here - I'm sure none of us meant to upset you! Ana :confused:

Personally - I LIKE having a few forums to jump around to - If I have seen all the posts on one.....I can try another...

I can see people who I know, and meet new yorkie people too ! but the BEST THING IS.....

I GET TO POST LOTS OF PICTURES TO NEW VICTIMS !!!

& I get to look at Yorkie babies from all over the world !

YD was my main picture posting forum cause it was so easy and you could BLAST everyone with multiple pics - but I have posted quite a few here and there - and enjoy all of them - !

Brittany - There can never be too many Yorkie places to go ! I liked your new forum - they all have something unique and there is room for everyone !

When YD went down the first time and came back I decided to stick with both YD and YT..I like both and pop into YS also..but perfer this one.

I like both too..I guess I spend more time here and at YD than others but I still will pop in from time to time.

Hey silvi..I dont think brittie is stealing any members from here..how many members were there before us YD memebers came along..like 4?

Brittie little site is very nice and user friendly. I'm an avid forum poster so I think it's great that she took the time to develop one.. It makes me want to try my hand at it!!!!! All the good names are taken , what would I call it?

Umm, there was well over 1900 posts before YD went down and some new users came on board. We had at least 150 members as well.

Also, I'm quite disappointed you badmouth us on other forums. I feel the community here has always been helpful and open towards new users. There's never been any restrictions of any sort and all talk is welcome.

I do enjoy posting on all of the forums. Each one is a little different than the other and has it's own personality. :-)

I am a very polite person....but I have been itching to get online all day. I have an opinion about the bad mouthing of this board on other forums.

This is a great relaxing slower paced forum for Yorkie owners. We have a good comraderie and support system. There is no competition or exclusivity. We are just people linked together by our love for our little guys and girls.

It has always been receptive, warm, friendly, welcoming and willing to share ideas and opinions.

YD members were warmly received. There were many postings about your frustrations concerning the demise or troubles keeping YD online. Silvi was not the only one trying to be patient as you decided if you wanted to stay or not. YT was used as a sounding board for your members and as a way to commuicate with each other. I stepped back for awhile to see if we could return to real interaction and exchange outside your interests in
YD. So for goodness sake, if this forum is not for you then feel free to go where your needs are being met.

I personally like many forums, many websites and many yorkie sites. However I have the courtesy to enjoy each one individually for what they have to offer. I certainly would not critique any of them on another's forum.

My favorite one is Yorkie Talk. It is full of kind and considerate people. I like the pace and the personal feel. So thanks, Yorkie Talk, for months of relaxing hours spent with each of you. You are the best!!!!!!

I quite agree that all forums are different and I have enjoyed being here. As you say , all have something different to offer and above all there is the true love we have for our yorkies and sharing in other yorkie stories etc and getting to know each other. Thank you all for the kind words about YorkieTalk! We do have a nice group here and we love having new people! :) Regardless of whether you stay or go back to your usual forum ... just know that you are always welcomed here!! People come & go ... have ever since I joined. Sometimes they ask for advice or tell us about their desperately ill Yorkie ... they never let us know if their baby got better or what the status is and I find myself wondering what happened to their baby ... that's because we truly care! We are glad you are here!! ;)

the same happened on YD too, people would post for info and support on their sick puppies and some would never update us. We always wondered what happened to them. Just want you to know that I no longer have the sense of panic about YD being down. Having this forum, yorkiechat and the sisterhood have made my transition much easier. Oh! and thanks to you egg heads I now read 2 casita forums & 2 rv forums. I don't post much and have only joined the Casita club but I'm reading and learning ;-).
Guess I'm forum addict, I post on a maltese forum, 2 military family support forums, a cake decorating forum. I start back to work on Monday, my summer has flown buy! I will stil be around but mostly in the afternoons.

I have not been comfortable with some of the YD members postings on other forums. Everyone here at YT has been very gracious to open the door to us. I, like a couple others have remained here and hope to continue. It is human nature to have favorites, but this forum and the newYorkie Chat are the best for me. Since I have successfully completed several days of YD "detox" I am free to enjoy life again and lots of new forums.
Thanks you to all the members of YT..and there are many we have not met, but feel a "Yorkie" bond with those we have. :D

All that enjoy this forum are welcome. If not, then there are many other sites available. Variety makes an interesting online experience.

My concern was about those who were so critical of one forum and expressed those criticisms on another site. We just need to use good manners. :o

I personally would like to thank ANYONE READING THIS for letting me tell MY YORKIE stories and not going like....."oh god...here she goes again" ....(like my father does!!!

I now purposly invent stories cause I get to see his 75 year old EYES ROLL up into his head !!! Cracks me up every time !

Edited to say - I purposly BRING UP stories - never have to invent them with a YORKIE - and now I have 2 ~!!!

Only another Yorkie owner would understand our chatter.

Max is one of scores of animals that we have owned throughout the years...but he is the most special!!!!

I am not sure if it his size, (5 lbs), his temperament, (submissive), his face, (big chocolate eyes, parted bangs, tiny black nose) or his loyalty, (follows me to every single room, up and down the stairs, waits in the window watching me drive out of the driveway.....still there, hours later)

He has stolen my heart and I hate to leave him each time I leave the house.

My husband has now even bought into the magic.

In addition, I was very ill for a year....and Max would lie in bed with me all day and night. He was such a source of comfort during those dark days when my husband was working...(Kids grown and live out of state) so for months and months...it was just me and him.

I did not know that I could love a little furry 5 lb bundle of love so much :D

Believe me.....I know just how you feel!!!!

What a TOUCHING way to speak about your baby and I know EXACTLY how you feel! I hope you are better and feel good these days...you didn't say !

I know how much LOVE these babies give - Chanel is MY WHOLE LIFE now going on 2 years - When I leave - I find I hurry back home - go out of my way to bring surprises just to see her face...and miss her terribly until I am here !

When I do get home - she has her whole HAPPY routine that we go thru - and that is EXACTLY WHEN I TAUGHT HER TO SMILE !!! Her pics do NOT do it justice - She will show EVERY TOP TOOTH when she smiles for real - !!

I've even told my husband SHE needs a cell phone - I'd rather talk to her when I call !

BYW...you said your husband feels the Yorkie majic...I have recently CAUGHT MINE on hopping on whatever Yorkie site I was just posting to ! And on TOP of that - he tried to EDIT some photos for the 1st time - I couldn't get on my computer all night that night - between telling him how to do it and him being so slow....2 pics were edited after all that - (he did a good job though!)

I really love the idea that I have more than one place to see other yorkies and read yorkies stories.
It seems that ever since Cody and Sadie came into my life they take up sooo much of it. I love the moments my human daughter, 5 years old, and I spend in the store looking at dog gifts. She loves picking toys out for them. It gives my daughter such a special feeling. I smile so much listening to my daughter talk to other people about her yorkies and the things they do.
Oh, and I just love the fact that she has so much energy to give them so much attention and play games like "flat on the floor", most of you know that game.

:) First of all Max's Mom - Max sounds a very special little boy!! I do hope all is well with you now? Sure Max saw you through it?! Hope so anyway! Yorkies are the most specialdogs , although I love all dogs, yorkies have the edge!

ANA - you are so sweet !! I do love her smilin pics - SHE IS SUCH a GOOFBALL !!
My husband said they were too goofy to post and I told him - of course she does....SHE LOOKS just LIKE A BEAVER when she does it ! We are still working on Capturing the exact moment she does it for real !!!

Oh - just cause I can, and I love this little face here is my baby's new pic - Cherish !! She will be 9 weeks old sunday !

I don't know why, but Chanel reminds me of a little girl who loves to eat her fancy white cake. She is just so adorable in her hairy way. She alway looks like she has an up-do.

I believe Silvi was a bit harsh, but perhaps they were just letting off some frustration. I don't believe that it was indicative of how most YorkieTalk members feel. The world is big enough for more than one Yorkie forum, and whereever you post or communicate, it'll be good for Yorkie owners overall! I don't believe anybody here has badmouthed any other place and I hope that continues. :)

Wow, red98vett, full teeth and all? HOW did you teach Chanel to open wide to smile? We've caught Yoda smilling, but it feels more like a grin (no teeth or barely any), and I thought we were crazy to be the only ones THINKING he was smiling. Heheheh...

VERY WELL SAID! I don't post much but I love it here too! I pop in at least once a day if I dont have comp. problems. Sometimes I have problems posting and just read. The people here have been nice. And I plan to keep comeing back if I am welcome too. Still trying to learn some things like how to post a pic. or post period, and everything else! LOL. I am a bit (Like a lot) computer-challenged.LOL

brittie123: I sincerely apologize for my behavior towards you, as now that I read it again, I was a bit harsh and rude to you. It just seems that a simple email to your YD friends would have been all that is necessary to invite them to your new forum. Good luck on your new forum!

Villette, speaking of phones...We went for an over night stay and I had to leave Bentley will my son whom stayed home. Anyway our first night there I felt so bad about leaving Bentley behind that when I called to check in, I asked to speak to Bentely. I thought he would like to hear my voice. LOL
