new yorkie in my family He so cute 11 wks and 1.15 oz. I already love him. I hate to say it but I am selling my other yorkie to a good home. He is the 11 wk that is already 4.5 pds. He is doing great on going out side potty. He even tried to use the doggie door last nite. He is very playful. I wish I knew about this website when I was looking for a yorkie. I hope you all wont think I am terrible for selling him. I want 850 that is what I payed for him. I am in MI. |
Would you reconsider? MaryKay, I do understand that you did not get what you thought you had bought, and I can see that you are dissapointed. I am wondering if you would consider keeping both dogs! Two pups are not that hard to deal with. I have two. They play well together and keep each other company. You may find that the larger pup stops growing sooner, and he may not turn out to be as big as you thought. :p |
Yes--having 2 is great!!!! They play together sooo well, and they love the constant comapanion!!!! I hope you reconsisder it! Give it a chance!! ANd look at it this way--just more of him to love! |
I am sort of speechless. Did you tell the breeder of the new one that you had a bigger pup that you bought at a pet store, recovering from kennel cough that you were ditching since he would get too big? |
Im with everyone else, having 2 is really nice bc they keep each other company! I would reconsider getting rid of the pup! It causes so much stress on them to change homes! |
I just can't understand why you want to get rid of a "family memeber". Once that little one came into your home, he has become family. And it will be sooo stressful for him to change yet again! Please reconsider. This is really bothering me. When Luigi came home with me, he was 4 lbs at 3 monthes. The breeder told us he would be a good 8 or 9 lbs! Which was cool! I didn't want a real small yorkie. But he is a yr and a half, and only weighs 5 1/2 lbs. He quit growing. So you never know! He may be smaller than you though just like Luigi was! Please, please reconsider this. He is already your baby, and seems like he is doing well, wiith pottying and sounds so happy playing! Please reconsider! |
puppy I think it is best to find a good home for your bigger boy...every dog deserves a home where he is thought of as special...I am not critizing you, there are many people who will want your boy...but if you can not get $850, do him a favor and give him to a wonderful family with good kids..do what is best for him. |
Ah, this breaks my heart.. I'm so sad for him. Glad my friends and family don't feel this way.. Bailey and I would have noone. :( I'm not trying to be mean.. it just makes me sad. |
My two cents I'm not happy at all reading this post. I hope what I'm about to say doesn't make you feel bad. I just feel bad that in a way you are treating your 'bigger' yorkie like a piece of clothing. To you, it doesn't fit....so you go out and find a tinier, little one that appears to fit. I hate to tell you this, but there's probably a good chance that tinier one will grow to be bigger than your 'bigger' yorkie. A lot of these breeder swear they have (and I hate to use this word) "teacup" yorkies. It's just a fancy word to make people who do not research yorkies pay MORE MONEY. The smaller a dog is (any breed), the more it is prone to health problems. I think that you are in love with the idea of a 'tiny' puppy. If that's the main reason you are purchasing a yorkie....well, maybe it is a good idea for you to give your 'bigger' yorkie to a good family that will love him no matter what. |
I have two puppies the same age and love it. In fact, I wish my little girl would hurry up and get a little bigger so I can stop worrying all the time. They are so very fragile. I love Tucker to pieces...and he is still such a small dog. Any dog under 10 pounds is tiny. |
I couln't agree more with LaLoca One. Our girl was 3 pounds at 7 weeks and is now 9 pounds at two years and we couldn't love her more. Please reconsider. |
I should let her tell you this...BUT I PMed her this morning, and apparently she has 3 yorkies now. This big boy is beating up on the other family members and is in general making everyone miserable. So there are other issues here besides size that she has not told everyone about. With that in mind, I think finding a new home for the big boy is a better idea than keeping him. |

Where did the third one come from?? I'm so confused. But you're right, find a new home for the bigger one. |

Well if there are other issues, then I can understand then. But that wasn't said and I didn't know there was a 3rd! I hope she then finds a home where the "bigger" yorkie is well loved and gets spoiled like he deserves. |
I am finding this thread quite upsetting BUT... although it would be lovely if you would keep him, i think it would be in his best interest to find him a forever home with someone who will love him whether he turns out to be 6lbs or 10 lbs |
