I agree with YorkieRose that you should rehome the bigger puppy. He deserves a forever home that will cherish him no matter what size he ends up. I do worry though about people making hasty decisions. So many times you see people post about having to give up a puppy because it doesn't bond with the other dog or the family or whatever and maybe the poor little guy just needs time to adjust. |
Jasmine is 5 lbs. Murphy is 8 or 9 lbs. Murphy belongs to my granddaughter and she will take him back someday when she can. I am trying very hard not to get too attached to him but still give him all the love and affection he needs. It's not working very well.I am getting attached. How can you not. He is such a sweet little boy. I know it will break my heart when she takes him. but I know how much she loves him and misses him. I also worry about Murphy and how hard it will be on him to leave the other dogs. He has been with us for quite a while now. He had bonded with Tori before she had to give him to us. You should see him when she comes over (about once a week). He is so exited to see her. I don't understand how you can give up your bigger dog. If you want the little one that's fine, but please consider keeping the bigger one too. Our Westie is 24 lbs. We wanted a smaller dog and Westies are usually much smaller than that, but we love him so much and wouldn't give him up. We just figure it's more to love. Each of our furbabies have their own personalities. All three are so different. Who knows, the bigger one may be the one whose personality fits yours the best. |
I have a question....what about the kennel cough that you are treating the bigger puppy and your older yorkie for? Won't this new little one be in danger of catching it as well? Also, just curious, how big is the adult yorkie? |

edited~Sorry thought you meant the pup... |
Disappointed This thread highly disappoints me...I could never give up my "baby" if he was to big. It is a shame that this happens and happens all to often with people who are uneducated about this breed. Im sorry I just had to speak my opinion! This is only my opinion and not that of Yorkietalk. |
WOW. :( It sure sounds like he's being sold due to his size...bless his heart - the larger yorkies are OUTSTANDING....he deserves to be somewhere that he can be loved for who he is.. not what he is.... GOOD LUCK ...I hope he finds a great home...Do you have any pictures of him ? |

If he is having issues with the behavior thing, then why not hire him a trainer or behaviorist to come to the house and see what a proffesional says. That is just my opinion. I have a friend who has a yorkie that was insane when they got him. He was always biting at them and bouncing off the walls and just wanst even very playful. And barked at them all the time. He was like that ever since they broguht him home. They had someone come to the house for 6 weeks--not sure how many days a week it was--but now he is such a good boy. Still full of energy, but he burns it off playing a fun way now. So why not try that route 1st, then see how it goes. I think I would try everything in my power to resolve these issues before I sold him to another family. Til then, he is still a part of her family. |
details on male I would like more information on mr. bigs. I have a 5 month old yorkie female, who is 5 pds right now. Im not sure if shes going to get to 7, 8 or 10 pds. Im not concerned as long as she is healthy and happy. I would consider possibly taking him if he had a health guarantee. I live in NJ. I would love to give the baby a home, but I cant go under either if he has other health issues. You can email me with his info at pitrpat036@comcast.net. Patty and Nina |
I am so distressed after reading this post. I simply don't know what to say other than I pray the bigger/other baby gets a good home. He certainly deserves one. Wow, how sad and tragic is this story? |
Just my opnion, But why would you go out and get two more yorkies, and then be getting rid of him because he doesnt get along, HE WAS THERE FIRST !!!! and Im sure thats how he feels too... This is way to sad to even talk about... Poor little (big guy).. My heart goes out for this sad puppy... But dont fear furbaby there is someone out there who wants to love you... I just know it. :animal-pa |
In the original post there was no mention of fighting.....she said he's very playful. He sounds like a little doll.... |
poor baby... :( |
I wish this baby a wonderful, loving forever home...with LOTS of spoiling!!! :animal-pa |
I hope someone takes him and loves him forever. It\'s never quite as long as you think it\'ll be...... |
