I'm a guy and love yorkies. I just got my little girl last friday. Now we have 3 |
My hubby was never really a dog person until Daisy Mae came into our lives.. :D We're getting a second in a month or so.. :) |
My guy calls him his "manly man dog" and loves every pound of him, even if he's only 3 ;) |
My husband and Loki are best friends. They are home together all day, they snuggle in the mornings, they play at lunchtime. He teaches Loki tricks while I'm at work and then shows them off when I get home. He still lets me feed him, brush him, and pick up the poop though. :D ETA: My dad who would NEVER let me get a dog because they are "animals" loves Loki like a grandchild and calls me to ask about him, even insists I let him babysit him rather than leave him home alone. Also, I think some men have an easier time with a boy yorkie. |
When I first started talking about getting a Yorkie, my husband was very against. He was going on about how yappy and nervous they tend to be. He did want to please me though so a few months later we got Twinkie. In the beginning he was a bit distant and now, 6 months later he says he cannot imagine his life without her. He bathes her, takes her out for long walks and is absolutely crazy about her. Of course Twinkie is NOT yappy or nervous and proved him completely wrong. I guess some guys need time to adjust and change their perspective about Yorkies. |
My husband loves our yorkies. He says we will have nothing else but yorkies. My sons (20 & 22) also love them. |
My husband is completely and entirely :hearts-xx big time in love with our three adults. The puppies are a different story entirely. He is so in love with Chizzie's puppies that....... well...... I am afraid that maybe we have an even 1/2 dozen! |
I love Yorkies, I made my girl get a yorkie at first, now she loves him more than ever. Remus is a part of a family. |
http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=43210 Thats what my boyfriend thinks about yorkies.. |
My boyfriend has said that if we get a small dog it had to be a Yorkie. His parents got one about 4 years ago and we both fell in love with him. After my boyfriend and I got our place together I kept bringing up the fact that I wanted to get our dog. He wasn't as into it as before. He works all the time and is busy. But I started looking and eventually found the perfect little girl. When I told him it was time to get her, he basically told me she was going to be my dog and that he didn't have time for one. Well that changed very quickly. lol He has called himself daddy, he plays with her all the time, and it is very cute watching him say goodbye to her before we leave. He does love her...now to work on convincing him that we need a playmate for her. :) |
Since Bailey came into our lives, we are now know to each other as Momma, and Daddy. What's that tell ya.. |
Well, let's just say, we are working on it, but he doesn't dislike the Yorkie, so we are doing good so far. |
My husband had Mitzi already for 4 years when I met him. He raised her all alone from a tiny puppy. Mitzi was one of the main reasons why I married him because I thought if a man can take care of such a fragile little dog and loves her to pieces he can't be all bad. Best of all when he asked me to marry him he included Mitzi in his porposal: "Will you marry me? I'm ready to commit and you and Mitzi will be my life!" :aimeeyork |
My husband says he tolerates my yorkie, he has a love for bulldogs. We had a bulldog and a yorkie and they got along great. He spoiled his dog and I spoiled mine. He is used to a more layed back, lazy dog, and my yorkie has more spunk than his. But I can tell ya he has come along way with his relationship towards my yorkie. He tends to care more than he leds on. |
Years ago, when we got our first Yorkie, my husband was not interested in small dogs let alone ones with "prissy" hair... The only reason we ended up with a Yorkie was he found out they do not shed. He was however concerned that if anyone he knew found out we had a "prissy" dog, he would have to put a "rainbow" bumper sticker on his truck and he was not having any of that...:rainbow: After bringing him home, my husband fell head over hills in love with our boy. He carried him on his arm around the house and they watched westerns on the weekends all day together. Then this past April, we lost our boy just a few days before his sixth birthday from a tragic accident. :rip: Within 48 hours, my husband surprised me by stating he wanted not only another Yorkie but make it two! :woof: So, we will be picking up our two new babies in less then two weeks. The whole family is excited! :D :yorkiesar |
My boyfriend loves and adores our yorkies :) they are our babies :) |
i'm a guy and i love yorkies. all my guy friends love my pup too. actually i find that girls are the ones who dislike him the most... maybe they're just jealous. |
Happy Hubby May of last year we lost our 9 year old yorkie to cancer. It took us by surprize and we had to put him down. We were devastated! That was our baby. We decided to wait at least a year before getting another dog. Last fall my husband started talking about someday getting a large breed dog. He kept showing me pictures of puppies for sale on the internet, trying to get me interested. I was not interested. Then he found an add from a local breeder that had two yorkie babies for sale. Both were boys. My husband showed me the add and pleaded with me to at least consider the idea. We went to take a look. We both fell in love instantly! Couldn't decide which one to take so we took both! My husband just absolutely loves these dogs. He proudly walks them several times a day. He also helps with baths and grooming, and has taught them several tricks. Our babies are now 9 months old and we are very happy again. :) :animal-pa ____________________ Wilbur & Orville Bright :aimeeyork |

I am really sorry to here about Milo:( . They just have way of wrapping themselves around your heart and when we lost our Merlin, it was devasting to the entire family. Even my mom, nana and aunt took it hard. They thought it was an excellent idea to get another Yorkie. We do too! I hope you will consider this down the road. It sounds like you both have a great home to offer any future Yorkie(s) in the future.:dogwalk: If you do, I hope you post lots of pictures! Thanks again for your post! Stephanie :yorkietal |
My hubby loves our babies! When I first met him I only had Megan, she is a lie down all day and do nothing kinda dog, this stems from her being an old ladies lap dog before I got her when the lady died:( . I wanted another that would play with me and the children so when my hubby was at work one day i went out with my mum and had a look at some yorkie pups.Paddy was the only one left, probably due to the fact he has an overshot jaw and he was so small compared to all the rest. But to me he was perfect!:D I rung the hubby as I left the breeder and told him,at first he groaned but that night when we went back he handed the money over and anyone would think it was a human baby we came home with! He is our baby and he never leaves our side, hubby goes soft over him as much as me,he even likes his clothes!! Just today he came in with Megans pink sparkley t shirt for her!! :aimeeyork |
