Cali trained real fast within weeks to wee wee pads, but I had 2 males previously and they both marked horribly, neither was fixed though. Gracie my last Yorkie and Maya my pom both took until they were 8-9 months old before they were trained. Cali is the first dog I have that I am home with all day and that I crate trained so I don't know if that was it or I just got lucky. |
She may never bark or whine to go out. Some never do, so you have to develop a way for you to know when she is at the door. (i.e. - bells, or doggie door)[/QUOTE] The doggie door would be wonderful if I had a fenced in back yard! But hopefully soon she will start telling me she has to go outside, in the evening when I'm home I'm all over her on potty outside and I reward her big time for going outside. I guess it all is just patients! |
bunjee will be 6 months this week and except for the two accidents (on tile) he's had while he was sick, he's not had an accident at home for over 6 weeks! the potty pad is in the kitchen and he will actually get up from where ever he is, living room, dining room, bedroom, and go to the kitchen for potty. he still gets confined to only the tiled area whenever i'm out tho, but i find that even though the potty pad is there, he won't go until i get home. i think he's realized that if i watch him pee on the potty pad, he gets a treat. if i'm not there, then no treat. haha. |
I have a male and a female and thought they were about the same to potty train. It was difficult and they are 1 years old and still have accidents. I just think it is a yorkie thing. |
