Be Honest, Do You Like To Show Off Your Yorkie! :animal36 I wanted to know if there are any out there like me. I love taking my girl out and the reaction of people when they see her. Everyone one asks where I get her groomed and when I say I do it myself many look flattered. My girl is so pretty and she knows it. |
I am always proud to take my babies out! They are sooo gorgeous! I think I'm like you...and most people on this forum...we really take pride in our babies...we take pride in humanity...we take pride in love...we take pride in DRESSING OUR DOGS FUNNY!!!!...we take pride in what we feed them...we take pride in the fact that they love us more than strangers...we take pride in all the love that they give us and they take pride in the fact that they know we will always come back for them. Sweet babies :heart to |
I love taking Brownie out in public and love all the attention she gets, but I just don't like strange people trying to pet her. Who knows where their hands have been?? YUCK... |
Absolutely!! I couldn't be more proud of my little guy! :) |
Of course I do.. :p |
Absolutely! Pippa is well known around her :D |
This is a cute thread....I love taking my girls out too but I only take them to Petsmart and the doggie park... at the doggie park they turn into total mommies lap-dog girls...and in Petco or Petsmart they literally skip thru store....I don't get it but it's cute...and they get lots of attention too. |
I was always so proud of Raisin and just loved to show her off because she was just a looker. She liked to just watch and was always the perfect little angel. She was always just so happy, docile, and fun loving I could take her anywhere. I now have Dennis and he is as cute but I have not enjoyed taking him shopping like I did with Raisin because he gets real fidgety and I am always afraid he will just leap out of my arms, so he does not get taken much. Now that he is almost a year and calmed down some I think we will both enjoy getting out more. I hope in time that he will make me as proud as Raisin, but that is a tall order to fill. Raisin was as beautiful as she was loving. I will always miss and love her, my dearest little one! |
Not me, I hate taking my girls places, and never show off pics. :p Yeah right, they are attached to me like glue on a stamp. I love showing them off, I love the attention, and I carry a mini photo album of them everywhere I go. :D Lexi is so freakin pretty and princessy, Tori is the cutest funniest pup. |
:cheer: You betcha! I'm so proud of Kloey, she is turning into such a great Yorkie, she is so well mannerd, she doest bark (sometimes) that often anymore, unless she really see's something that has caught her eye. She is starting to understand the word NO, and I'm just so excited! When we go places she always wants to sit with me when I drive and she sits on the edge of the window, and I have to have my arm up there so she can look out the window and when people drive by and see her I always get sweet looks or pointing and Kloey and I just eat it all up! :coolsmile |
Oh yes!!!!!!!! I love taking them places!!!!! And I always get asked what the "girls" names are!!! I always laugh and say my "boys" names are Luigi and Brasco!! They mostly apologize!!!!! Its soooo funny! But they LOVE getting compliments! I swear they know when they get one! :D Hehe!!!! But the hair salon I work in, I have pics of them on my station and a little brag book filled with tons of pics!!!!!!!!! My clients get a kick out of it!!!!!! |
Of course. I think that is true of almost ALL yorkie owners. Their is something about our babies that make them so special. |
You bet I do, as I love to show off my girls and boys. Everyone stops and brags about them and asks all kinds of questions. I took my one female with me to a arts and crafts show and don't think I will ever do that again as I could not look at anything for the people stopping me....... My one is a little show off and prances around..... |
well of course, i show her off allthe time, shes my one and only.... |
Oh most definitely! I love dressing up my little one and taking her “out on the town” to show her off. She is such a cutie, she gets loads of attention and love. I’m cautious with people holding her cause she’s on the smaller side, but she absolutely loves the attention and gives kisses to anyone who’ll give her the time of day. Outings like this, along with day care and a training class have turned my little one into quite the social butterfly… and me a very proud mommy. |
I definitely like showing off my yorkies. I like dressing them up and takin g them out. They are so cute and always get alot of attention. I lie dressing My 5 year old girl cute so they are just like a couple more children to me. |
Oh my gosh yes !! I love my little sweetie ! I love showing her off....people are amazed at how small she is :-) |
Oh yes, I love to take Princess everywhere!!!! She's my baby girl!!!! People always stop to say hi to her. We love to walk around the Mall in her Pink Stroller. :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: |
Of course, she's so pretty and very well behaved. I took her to an auction the other night and right in the middle of the auction the auctioneer over the loud speaker pointed to Jasmine and jokingly asked if I wanted to sell that dog. I of course said No. He said "I'll bet you could get a lot of money out of her." I told him she was priceless and no amount of money could buy her. He said "I don't blame you, that's how it should be." I love my Jasmine & the boys. |
We take ours on walks from spring to fall. We love showing them off as well as we think it's important to keep them socialized that way. The more people and different things our yorkies come in contact with the more comfortable we feel that they can tolerate anyone and any situation. When nikita was alive i'm sure we drew quite a few crazy stares though..a pit bull 2 yorkies and a big mixed breed dog..lol |
I know we all love the compliments we get when we take our little dogs out. But - let's remember - other dog get a lot of attention also. Whenever I go to Petco, there are few dogs in that store (large or small) that don't get a lot of attention. My friend has a beautiful standard poodle, and he says he can't go for a walk without being stopped constantly by people who want to visit with his dog....not with him - with his dog! Dogs are great. I enjoy seeing different breeds and mixed breeds out and around. Carol Jean |
I love taking my little ones out with me. In fact they went to their very first baseball game yesterday. My brother was starting pitcher so we couldn't miss that important moment. It was funny because he plays high school ball and of course when I showed up with my little ones all the little girls were like that's the kind of dog I want. If they only knew how much work it is I don't think they'd want one. They are just like an actual kid. People just compliment both of the pups everytime we are out around town. Harley just can't get enough of them Lexi on the other hand I think wished for a more private lifestyle. |
Sometimes it's fun, and I know it's good for Shelby. Sometimes it's embarrassing. I am not used to being noticed and I sort of hate it. |
I think I would have picked a breed that turned less heads if I wanted a dog I could walk around with and not get noticed..... Boy that sounds bad! But really! Its hours of grooming! Its an expencive breed to start with, Their up keep, and clothing costs are sky high! Their shoe collection can compare to yours! And when it comes to hair products, theirs take up just as much room under the sink as yours do and cost just as much! If the people who stopped us and poo pooed over our pups really knew what it takes to keep our little darlings so lovely.... ugh... Of course its for the attention! .... From the dogs that is....... :p I just love pixie kisses! |
You bet I do. They are natural show stoppers and you don't see all that many of them, at least not around here. Many people dont even know what kind they are. I've never taken one out dressed up. That would be fun. |
4 Attachment(s) Me? Heck no! That's so rude to push your dog onto someone else. Oh, hey, take a look at my new pics of Baby :tongue3: :wink2: :rofl28ib: |
Honestly? I like the attention but it scares the heck out of me because I'm worried someone will try to steal him. It happens all of the time down here -- I live near the Border. I've had two other dogs stolen -- a guy broke into my house specifically to steal the dogs! Nothing else was gone! I got an alarm system installed after that. Soooooo, none of my neighbors know I have a Yorkie and I want to keep it that way. Neighbors saw my bulldog when we were going to the vet and I actually had strange people showing up at my door to ask me if I wanted to sell her. It worries me. Julie |
confession time lol I have to admit when I see a pit bull I can't hardly keep myself from going up for a pet or two. I think they are a beautiful breed. I know there is alot of controversy about this breed but these people didn't know my nikita she was as gentle as a newborn lamb and so beautiful. I miss her. Anyway so snowwa your right it's not just yorkies that draw attention. They are all beautiful in one way or another if you ask me. |
Vivi always attracts attention...my daughter says it is like travelling with a celebrity. Vivi loves it and so do we !!!! ;) |
I love my dog and I am proud of him, but I am either mortified or annoyed when people stop me to talk about teacups, asking who his breeder is or wanting to pet him. I guess I am just used to walking my Lab mix. No one gave her a second look even though she was 1000x smarter and more friendly toward strangers than Stewie - I guess she just wasn't as "cute" and "trendy" so she didn't get oohh'd over. I love showing off pics of him at work or school. I have a ton :) I also email pics to friends and family once a week - like he's my child |
