Is She A Teacup? So I got the typical question today at the mall. I was walking with Ruby and someone ask "Is she a teacup?" I said "No she is a dog can't you see". Just thought I oughtta share this. I loved the lady's face when said this.

				 | unfortunately, the "tea cup" term has been used so much that most people do not seem to realize that it is incorrect... Would truly have loved to see her face though.. Bren

Ha ha! Funny reply I used to correct people but I gave up. When people ask me what breed she is I just say she's a yorkie. When they ask me if she's a teacup yorkie I just yes, she's a small yorkie.

lol...most people that don't know about the breed don't know that there is no such thing as a teacup yorkie. I don't get offended when asked this. I'll just kindly say no she is not and then proceed to school them on why this term is used.

I am still offended by it. I think your answer was a good come-back. I had a friend years ago who had identical twin girls, always dressed alike. Her hubby was shopping at groc store one day when they were about a year old and a woman came up to them and tried to touch their faces. Hubby turned her away and she said "Oh, my, they are so cute. They look just alike. Are they twins?" He answered "Oh, no ma'm, they are 5 years apart!" HERE'S YOUR SIGN! to quote Jeff Foxworthy..LOL

No, she is not a TEACUP, she is a YORKIE. I used to be offended by the teacup question, but most folks just don't know, are interested and are trying to make intelligent conversation. Unless someone is being rude, I will take the time to try to explain. Twinkie, you have given me inspiration, I am going to make silk bandanas with a sign on them.

I don't get offended anymore its just anoying that everyone wants to ask the same question. I would love to educate them but I'VE done so in the past and people look at me like they don't want all the info.
