Neurotic Owners- Sign in here!! I am by all means, officially a neurotic pet owner. I've decided im no longer ashamed. I'm going to embrace the fact that i have a scrapbook dedicated to my dog...and that he has a great wardrobe...and that all i think of while im at work is how happy he is going to be to see me. I dont care anymore that my family thinks im nuts for being the way i am with him- wiping his bum and peepee, dissecting his poop to make sure its ok, even him peeing on potty pads needs explanation- but i dont care anymore. I love him to bits and im ok with everyone thinking im nuts for dressing my dog up and spending ridiculous amounts of money on him- he deserves it dammit. He makes me so freakin happy its unreal. :p ok just had to get that out. so all you other neurotic pet owners let out your frustrations here! What irks you about all the non-neurotics?? do you hate having to constantly explain yourself??? [i know i do!] Stories and such are sooo welcome :] |
I am most definitely a neurotic pet owner...the list goes on and on....I used to poke fun at people like me  :p |
I don't bother explaining myself either. Screw em! ;) I don't have kids, this is my baby, take it or leave it, it is the way it's gonna be! |
yep, another neurotic "mom" here. Moose and lil bear on my mind all the time, always looking for stuff they might like, let them lick taste off my fork and spoons and go right back to eating and the list goes on and on :) |
Oh, I'm definietly a member of this club! I never thought in my WILDEST dreams that I would be so in love with a dog. I've had dogs before but none compare to my Yorkie. I am so obsessed with her and all thing Yorkie(obviously, cause I'm on this website much of the day when I should be WORKING!). I think about Muffin so much of the day and when I'm away from her I miss her terribly. I wish I could take her to work but I don't think the principal of my school would take too kindly to that.... I too dress up my baby and I'm not ashamed of it either. She's so damn beautiful, why wouldn't I want to dress her up like a little doll?? I'm just glad I have a place where I can go to talk to other neurotics like me. WE ARE NOT ALONE. :p |
The fact that I am NO dog lover (and still am) but goes overboard in pampering my Tiger makes me a full pledged Neurotic Yorkie owner. |
You go! I agree. How could you not love these little yorkies like people!??!!! |
I second that my babys eat off my spoon and fork ,people think Im crazy for letting them eat off my silverwear but i dont care what people think ,and Im always buying things for my babys .me and my husband calls our babys our kids ,they eat with us and sleep with us ,wouldnt have it anyother way , |
Me, too, a neurotic Yorkie Mom. I've always been that way with my special guys (always had boys) and not ashamed about it at all. Love is unconditional!! |
i knew i wasnt alone. i just hate the looks i get- like im some weirdo!! he is my SON. lol i know a dog is alot different from a human child, but seriously, i think of him as my kid!! :p |

Ditto Ditto- I am the same as all above. My kids say I am turning into one of "those" old ladies. She is my BABY!!!!!! |
Count me in! My whole family , who all have dogs, think I'm nuts! I don't care i can come to YT and be understood! |
I am in also as everyone thinks I am crazy for the way I am with my fur babies. My husband tells everyone that when he dies he wants to come back as one of my yorkies because he thinks I care for them more than him......he he he ;) |

Im so glad Im not alone! Helo fellow crazy! :D Or atleast thats what people call me. Because I treat my babies like they are people! Well to me they are people! I get so pissed when people look at me like I'm crazy becauseI want to buy clothes for them. Or frame their pics, etc! My reply to anyone who does these things is (Well, Obviously you have NEVER had a yorkie!) Because they are more than dogs!!!!!!! They are my other children! Except they have more hair! LOL |
Id rather be with my fur kids then most humans in this world. Schatzie and Ransom are by far the reasoning behind my insanity. :p I wouldn't change anything at all! I love every moment with them. ;) |
I promised myself I wouldnt get too attached to my daughters puppy, but after 3 months forget it. I was crying the other day because she was acting extra hyper and I thought she had eaten something. Patty and Nina :animal36 |
Raising my hand too My husband and I were never blessed with children so people think we are nuts literally for everything we spend and do with Zoey but that’s ok. The heck with everyone else, we are DINKs, we aren’t sending any kids to college so we can spend whatever we want on our Baby Zoey. :D BTW we will never have to have the “Talk” with Zoey and we also don’t have to worry about the “This is your brain on drugs” talk either. LOL! We only have to worry about tripping over all these toys…lol :p Kelly :aimeeyork Zoeys Mommy :aimeeyork |
Sign me and my hubby up! :p Sometimes he is worse over Zeus that I am. We just love our little boy to peices!! |
I am a full fledged card carrying member. My friends who are dog owners love to make fun of me. Let's start by the fact that I don't refer to them as dogs or actually think of them as dogs. They are my babies, little people. Need I say more. The list just goes on from there. |
i too am a neurotic pet owner. before i never understood how some people can treat their pets like they're so human... and spend so much money, time, effort, and affection on them... now i feel asmiliated into that fold... - i spend gobs of money on toys, clothes, food, treats, healthcare for my puppy - i spends hours upon days upon weeks researching, evaluating, and sampling the best food for my bunjee's health, while i chowing down on instant noodles. - my puppy eats the best i can afford while i had mcdonalds dollar menu last night for dinner - i find myself saying the words..."i can't go on vacation at the spur of the moment, i need to arrange for a furbaby sitter before i run off some place". - i find myself saying the words..."sorry, no happy hour, i have to go home, my puppy misses me." - i pack a furbaby equivilent of a diaper bag whenever we go visit a friend/family's home. - i buy the economy size pack of baby wipes at target and bunjee gets wiped after pee and poo. - my parents are now referred to as "grandma" and "grandpa" while my husband is now "daddy". - my computer and digital camera has pictures of bunjee-galore - i stop on the street to greet strangers, not because i'm outgoing, but because bunjee wants to sniff the stranger's dog's butt. - i know more about doggie vaccinations than i do about human vaccinations... apparently i'm overdue for a few booster shots, several years overdue. but bunjee on the otherhand, is totally up to date except for rabies. - bunjee has his own drawer in the dresser. i made my husband give up one of his drawers in favor of bunjee. oh i can go on...:D but as bart simpson would say, "i'm a neurotic pet owner, and proud of it!" |
My number one pet peave is when people come to your house and your yorkie greats them, and they are like ( get back dog )! I just say, he lives here you don't, this is his house, and he is part of my family! |
