Sometimes I think the trouble we go to to feed our dogs and get them to eat is "ridiculous" --- and I'm just as bad as the rest of you. I've been feeding my two dogs (a bichon and a Yorkie) some wet Premium dog food in the morning and leave IAMs dry food out during the day. In the evening - they luck out and get healthy people food (often my leftovers). I'll have to admit they get such a variety that they aren't very picky - and, if they are - there's always the dry dog food out (so they'll never starve). When I say people food, my dogs like chicken, other meats, rice, eggs, cheese, vegetables, and a hundred other things. They like most of the things I eat - including salads. And - because they have such a variety of foods, I really don't worry too much about what they eat- as they don't get a lot of anything - but rather a lot of different things. They are good about their dog food in the morning (because they are hungry when they first get up) and they don't like dry dog food, but do eat some during the day - again because they are hungry. And, I suppose their favorite meal is dinner because they get good healthy people food (not a lot, of course)..... I can honestly admit that when I go shopping for myself - I buy food for myself that is healthy for my dogs. There is no doubt that my own diet is healthier because of them. This is a good thing!!!!! Anyway - we gave up worrying about food - we just eat! And, we are all, slender, healthy, and happy. (Oops - I may be a little overweight - but my dogs aren't.) Good luck - Carol Jean |
