New Sis In Sept For Our Girl!! Just seen and chosen our new little girl who will be called Gizzie Chavi (probably one name or the other!) and she was just 2 wks old!! She is a beaut! Only 2 to choose from otherwise we would have had to wait longer to decide! Gypsy Rose will love a sister I hope!! She lost a brother (14 yr old Lhasa Apso) a few weeks ago and I hope she'll appreciate the company! She was small and sweet and cuddled into me!! Just had a feeling she was right for us--!! Ana xxx |
I am so glad you got to see her and hold her, not all breeders let you do that. You are lucky. I'm sure she will fit right in she is off to a good start. I know it is going to be a long 6 weeks to wait but it will be worth it! and with a visit every now and then it will go by faster and let you and the baby get to know eachother so the transition will not be as hard! Congrats on the new baby! Cindy |
Awwwww.....a new baby.......she sounds wonderful....... :) |
Thanks both! Yes we are lucky that we can see and hold the baby at this age and see her again too - we did this with Gypsy Rose too!! Being able to take photos at this age etc is just wonderful for the "family album!" Never to be taken again!! One of the mother and in this case the father too. The sister etc!! We saw Gyps when she was the same age!! Gizzie was so cuddly!! Will keep you posted! Ana xxx |
Congrats! Let us know about your breeder experience good or bad! :) |
A New Baby!!! How exciting! Wish I had your nerve! Keep us updated! ;) |
Funny you should mention "nerve" !! Much as I want a sis for Gyps I hope I am doing the right thing. The last thing I want to do is upset my girl. Until recently she had an elderly brother but wonder what she'll think of a pup who will obviously need a lot of our attention. Guess we'll have to handle the situation very carefully. This breeder is good, the yorkies all dash out to meet you and they introduce each one to us. We saw Gypsy Roses's mother again and both the parents of Gizzie our new baby! Before going here I never thought a breeder would let you handle them at just 2wks old - the mother was watchful but ok about it too! Will go again when she is 5 wks. Any of you seen your yorkies at very young ages? Guess some of them are "home bred?!" Ana xxx |
Gypsy Rose ... it's an admirable thing to do! I have only seen pictures of them that small ... can't imagine what it would be like to see & hold one in person. Toto was 1 lb. 8 oz. when we got her at 16 weeks and holding her was like hardly having anything in your hand!! :) It was one of the most exciting & terrifying periods of our lives! No wonder we have spoiled her!! Her little mommy came along [we all met at our vet's for the adoption] and I was torn between feeling sad for taking her baby but not wanting to miss another second of her life!! I don't know if it could have been more emotional had it been a human baby!!! ;) |
Bettyeanne - Toto must have been so small!! No idea what the pup weighed but it sure wasn't much lol!! I am so excited but so scared too if that makes sense! I have a photo of the two pups we chose from but I am rather computer challenged I'm afraid!! I could MAYBE send it to you at your email address but no idea how to get it on here!! I WILL learn lol. Bettyeanne - you are an angel - one day, one day I will learn to do this for myself---!! I will TRY - don't hold your breathe and just as equally don't be surprised if you get no photo at all or you get 3 or 4 the same 9 YES - I'm that bad lol). Bathing a tiny Toto must have been scary!! Just having had a grandson tho' think I'd rather bath a tiny yorkie than a baby again and I had 2 - a while ago now LOL!! Thanks again IF you get the photo!! IF you do - our Gizzie Chavi is the one on the right as you look at the photo of the breeder holding them both up - remember they are only 2 wks old - eyes just opened - they may grow up to be Rotties lol!! Ana xxx |
Ana--- I let people see mine when they are young too. They are all usually spoken for by the time they are born and have since gone to thier new homes. I dont know how to post a pic here either but If you wanted to see them they are in my album at Y.D. I have pics of them there from day 1. Now they are a little over 3 months. I kept the girl, She is Bailee and the mom is Brandi. Cindy |

That's our Gizzie lol!!! She'd just been wormed earlier in the day and left me a message I wouldn't forget down the front of my blouse!! A bit of housetraining may be called for!! Still chose her !!! Thanks again! Ana xxx :) |
Gypsy Rose ... you are very welcome!! :) They are both just so adorable ... but there was just something about Gizzi!! That was really funny about the poop!! :p However, have you noticed ... there is no smell to Yorkie poop?? :D |

I manage to keep mine (HUbby)! Although he loves them as much as I do. And there is nothing better than a wadeing pool (EMPTY) with a bed, blankets, toys, in the middle of your livingroom floor. And the food, water, AND of course MOM!! She can jump in and out as she wishes. Puppies are TOO! FUN!! There is the work and care for both MOM and puppies. The first week-- a lot of worrying, A lot of nights sleeping on the floor beside them JUST CAUSE! LOL. After they graduate to the pool--They need cleaned, fed, picked up after, Lots of laundry, shots, worming, checkups, Handled and played with, Field trips to get out of thier pool and run around inside/outside and on the deck ( BUT thats not work thats PLAY! LOL) Nothing is funnier than a puppy just trying out the lenolium on the kitchen floor! Cindy |
OOOPS!!!!!!! There may not be something funnier but there is something better than lenolium, and I think ALL would agree!! PUPPY BREATH!!!!!!!!!!!>LOL Cindy |
I've never seen such tiny Yorkies (well never two week olds)! Thanks for sharing the picture, and thanks bettyeanne for posting it! Wow, they are a handful! :) |
:) Fasteddy - no doubt just the one we picked GIZZIE CHAVI will be more than a handful on her own - well she IS a yorkie lol!! Can't wait - more pics when she's 5 wks - Bettyeanne - WOULD YOU?!! I may have learnt by then but it's doubtful lol!! Lovely to get to know all you at YT !! Ana xx |
Bettyeanne, I LOVED your idea for a mod! But be sure and see today's post on Clicker Training. Don the Dog Hater and The Dog He Hates just came back from a trip to get grease for the trailer hubs and Don was all full of smiles about how cute Higgins was on the trip. He is SOOOOO in love with that little guy!!! LOVE watching them together. Cindy, I met a dog lover in Florida this winter who says they ought to bottle "Puppybreath" and sell it as an aphrodisiac. Think about it a minute. ;) |

I know exactly what you mean! The first time I gave Zoey a bath, she had been home for one week (making her 7 weeks old). I had researched all about Yorkies before we got her and all I could remember was how "fragile" they were supposed to be. She did fine with the bath, but then the shaking set it. I freaked out just like you did! All I could think about was I was going to make her sick! We ran for the blowdryer, but I was scared of even that because I was afraid I would burn her! When the whole ordeal was over she was a cutie, but I was wiped out! LOL I told my husband it was worse than giving our children their first baths! :p |

Would love for you to visit Alabama!! It's not at all like it is often portrayed! ;) |
