I am so VERY VERY SORRY, I hesitated on getting my little girl because those moments when we have to let them go is so very hard. I can not get over the way the vet. treated you!! What an awful thing to go through, having to make the decision and then having to let her go in a matter of minites. Wonder why she went through for a vet in the first place. |

I know I will not take the chance by using it. There are dogs getting into Meds, Posions, Cleaning products and plants that can causes this. You may never find the answer to WHY or WHAT caused this. Some Vets need to take a refresher course on compassion..I'm sorry you had to deal with one that was such an Ass..I know it's hard to find a good Vet that has the skills and a good bedside manner. I'm very sorry you lost your little girl and I hope your little guy is Ok. ((((Hugs to you)))) |

It must have been hard enough losing such a precious baby without that uncaring woman treating you all so badly. I am so sorry. My son had a twenty dollar ball python that we took to the vet when he got burned on his light. The vet we took him too was so great. He treated that little snake like it was the cutest little bundle of joy. Of course, by the time we left he was a 600 dollar bundle of joy. I am sure if he had needed to be put down that this guy would have been wonderful. My point is that Vets need to understand that their job, IMHO is not just the animals, it is the family as well. |

I would look for another vet if I were you. |
So Sad.......... MY heart is breaking too. I'm so sorry that you have gone through so much. Hugs and prayers coming your way........ |
I'm so sorry for your loss. I just recently lost my teacup poodle Bunny, who was my constant companion. I can only imagine how much harder it would have been with an unsympathetic vet. :( |
I am so sorry for you!! That you lost your sweetheart and the way the vet treated you! I know that renal failure is very bad though. If it helps you at all, you made the correct choice. Renal failure is not something they can pull through. Your are in my thoughts and prayers!! |
I found this information regarding a miniature schnauzer, I will look for more. I lost a little dog due to liver shunt (possibly) and felt compelled to find information on it as well. I am very sorry for your loss. www.vetinfo4dogs.com/dinherit Congenital renal failure syndromes Q: I am trying to get some information on Juvenile Renal Failure mostly as it applies to Miniature Schnauzers. What are the hereditary factors? I am assuming that it is hereditary. Thanks C- A: There is a familial renal disease of miniature schnauzers, which is presumed to be heritable based on the pattern (related dogs being affected). I do not think the mode of inheritance has been established, nor is it certain that this condition actually is inherited. Despite this, it is probably not a good idea to breed a relative of a dog with this problem. In most congenital renal failure syndromes the clinical symptoms of congenital renal disease do not usually appear before 4 months of age and may show up later in life, perhaps as late as two or three years of age. Typical signs of renal disease, including vomiting, weight loss, dehydration, increased drinking and urination occur. Anemia occurs as the disease progresses. While it is possible to slow the clinical course of these diseases with treatment it is eventually fatal. I am not sure if this is all true for schnauzers with congenital renal disease since I really only found a reference to the existence of the problem as a familial trait in Dr. Morgan's text " Handbook of Small Animal Practice". How horrible! I can't imagine what you must be feeling right now! I am so sorry for your loss. Good luck with the puppy, but you should really change vets. There is no way that one should get anymore of your business, nor anyone's that you know. I would also write her a letter and let her know your feelings. She shouldn't be in this business. :( |
I\'m so sorry :( God bless your little furbaby. |
I am so sorry to hear about your loss . My friend Rita had 2 different puppies that died from juvenile renal failure , one was 5 months old and the other was 7 months old . You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers . |
I am so sorry to hear about your loss! It is so heartbreaking to lose our furbabies. My thoughts are with you at this difficult time. |
I am so sorry for you losing your little Kai. I just cannot get over how you were treated. It is absolutely terrible. I agree with the others that you should certainly address this with this vet once you have given yourself a little time to heal. That Vet had no compassion for a frightened and scared family and should be called on it. There is no telling how many other families she has treated in this way. Bless you and your family! |
