I so hope your baby turns out just fine. Witing is hard and we usually think the worst...but tr to stay positive and remember y'all have lots of support on here... |
I will be praying for you and your furbaby...Hopefully they'll be able to come up with the cause of the problems with the tests that they run. Good luck, and know that we're all here for you. |
Sending Yorkie hugs your way..... Hope your test results bring good news. |
You're going to have to wait to hear from your vet who is trying to find out more specifically what your dog's problem. There are so many different types of clotting disorder - some serious and some not - many are treatable. You'll go crazy trying to second-guess what is wrong with your little dog at this point - and at best, all you can get from those of us on YT at this point is just "guesses." Be sure and let us know what your vet does find out. Carol Jean |
Thanks to everyone for your posts. Luci's bile acid test came back abnormal. The vet believes she either has microvascular dysplasia or liver shunt. He thinks it's microvascular dysplasia, which means the blood doesn't flow properly to the liver. With diet management and vitamin k, she should live a normal life span. :D She has been put on a prescription dog food (LD Diet - liver diet) and has to go for an ultrasound tomorrow of her liver to determine what specifically is wrong. Thanks again for your kindness and concern. |
Deniselea, I'm sorry that her bile acid tests came back high...Miko also has a liver shunt (his is intrahepatic, more than likely, and is inoperable), and he also has to be on medication and special hepatic diet for life. The vet also told me that he should live a normal life as long as we always give him his medicine and special food :) Miko is very healthy as far as I'm concerned and is extremely energetic and playful :) He's our precious little miracle :) |
