I am a new yorkie owner as of last Dec and still with tons of questions. At first, I'd come to YT regulary to see if I could get any help. I'd post my questions, asking for help or advice. I recieve very little.

Over time, I came to be more familiar with my yorkie's habits and what nots. I remember another member asked if our yorkies had favorite toys. I replied and said mine loved the squeaky toys. Next thing, the person posted after me said she HATED those squeaky toys and thought they were stupid. That hurts.

I was VERY close to not coming anymore because I did not feel any connections with anyone at all. But, seeing your reminder for everyone, it gives me a smidge of hope that maybe it's not all that bad. I should use it.

JKAT.... I hope that you will have a better experience now...YT is really a great place. I am so glad that you decided to give it another chance. BTW my yorkie loves squeaky toys and she has so much fun when she finds the spot on the toy that makes noise...it is almost like she is proud of her accomplishment :)

Im sorry you got very little advice when you asked. I once posted in the breeders section and got lots of views but not no advice. So I know how you feel. But other then that its been a very nice place.

I don't either and I have been here for over a year.

I got PM'd by someone who wanted to be friends, I Pm'd them back and then never heard from them again.... this has happened 2 times, Sure does make me feel like I'm doing something wrong!
I'm a lonley single 27 year old with a newborn baby and a young furbaby. I think that the only reason why I am on YT anymore is because I don't have anywhere else to be and because I need advice and really have no where else to turn at times. You know, I was always "that girl" in High school, that girl who was never asked to the dances, that girl who was not popular, that girl who was expected to repeat the 12th grade. I was the only girl in the WHOLE class that was not included in the sweet 16 dance because they "forgot" about me... I hate feeling like I am in High School all over again.
I posted recently about a mild problem that I was having with Gracie and do you know what the 1 responce was, "ask your vet, I don't know"... someone posted with the same problem 2 days later and got 27 responces. All of it honest good advice. It really makes me feel unwanted here.
I do have to add, that there has been some random acts of kindness here, and I am gratefull for that, but I still feel unwanted.... Maybe I'm making too much of something, maybe not. I just feel this way.

It does hurt when people reply like that. Just so you know, my male could care less about his squeaky toys and looks at me like, "woman, you are incredibly stupid to even THINK I would touch that....that....THING!" But my little girl is all......"WOOHOO!!! SQUEAKY TOYS!!!! GIMME GIMME GIMME!! WOOO!!" haha I think some of us just need to be reminded that there are other ways of saying what we want to say without being so rude. :)

Claire - you sound like a really nice person.....I wanted to tell you that sometimes people can't respond because they really don't have answers...and then other times people that DO have something to say may be online...it's kind of a gamble and I'm so sorry your feeling were hurt....I can understand it and I'm going to pm you and you WILL hear back from me....Keep posting.......You've already proven you're a strong woman raising a baby as a single mom and you have my admiration for that...that's a tough job ...having friends on the computer can really enhance your life when you need to just 'talk'

and anyone who's felt a little out of place....remember it's a very big site...some of us post ALOT and still can't read or respond to all the threads...much as we'd like to.....

I went back & read this entire thread again and again was "enlightened"! I think sometimes we just speak before giving any consideration to what we are saying. On the other hand .... some people are just plain mean and the internet gives them some sort of anonominity! If I have ever said anything offensive .... I am truly sorry. I think my biggest "fault" is in thinking I just don't have time to respond and many days I don't even though I would like to and have the best intentions of doing it later. The site has grown so much, it's really hard to keep up .... or at least for me [I'm old] it is!! :p

I think that things have greatly improved as of late ... I don't know why unless we are all just trying harder to be courteous. I appreciate the efforts of our Admin and the moderators chosen by him to help with the forum!

Claire, honey, please don't feel like you don't belong here! Sometimes our posts just get overlooked ... and that's just wrong. If we ask a question, we need some sort of answer, even just moral support if we don't have any advice. I, for one, will certainly try to do better! Bottom line .... you DO belong here and we all love you and are happy to have you! You have a monumental job with a human baby .... been there, done that, alone and my "baby" is now a beautiful Mommy of two and just your age!! :)
