Thanks for posting the link. I went to www.stopwizardofclaws.com and posted in their message board. I commended them for doing what they can to stop these millers/brokers.

I received my post from SmallPawsRescue and the founder has been interviewed by a national TV news station in ref to the proposal to charge for mass mailings.. That article will also cover the rescue side of the miller dogs and abuse and auctions, etc. possibly! It is time the problem of abuse of animals and the whole business of mill-breeding and those who market those poor creatures get the national attention it deserves. There is not one other business that operates with such blatant false advertising, contracts that are totally worthless,and flat out lies to the public that have so little regulations by the very agencies that are supposed to enforce truth in advertising and all of the other laws that apply to businesses.
I am wondering how a used car salesman would fare if he/she operated under the same cloak of public deception..JMO

Also, I wonder if truly, these celebrities, whose image is everything knows that so much negative press is out there on this group and their names are being used right along side it. Almost like an endorsement.

I am so thankful that no puppies or people were injured in the shooting attack on the store front. I don't understand extreme activists who use violence. :( They don't do anything to help the cause.

First, let me say I do not appreciate being accused of "defending" this buisness (I am referring to Post # 18) because I am not and have never done that. I am not doing that now. I would not personally buy an animal from these people or recommend that anyone else do so.

I do however have a problem with intentional misinformation being spread over the internet in the form of rumors and lies because that does more harm than good. It would be easier to get this place shut down if the truth were told and the owners had no defense to what is written since it would all be true. Posting lies and untruths gives them a defense against those who participate in this behavior and the shooting up the store front gives them undeserved sympathy and puts the opposition in a bad light.

You would have that to have been here for a while and read all of the misinformation that has been written about this broker. I am all for posting and warning about businesses that abuse and mistreat animals and I do believe those should be shut down, but there were so many false rumors and out and out lies about WOC that they "lost" all credibility with me because when I would discover that the things they were saying were not true it made me wonder if ANY of it was true, and I found the liars and misinformation spreaders almost as bad as the people they were complaining about.

I do not condone defamation even when the subjects are bad people. It is wrong and lacks integrity. There is a lot of defamation that goes on on the internet and I find it deplorable.

As an example, it was posted over and over again that WOC had been "closed down" many times, that Anderson had been arrested for animal cruelty and that they continually failed inspections, but, in fact, none of these things are true.

Well actually, it says that they did "close down" and had to reincorporate under a different name. The guys wife even had to open the business under her name instead of his. :cool:

It's sad that just because he settled out of court (ALOT) so to speak, doesn't make him clean. Also, from what I've been read, and keep reading the only difference's between him, and Jeff Dane, is Florida's STRICT Lemon Law that is kept on record, and expensive car's. Oh, and the fact that Jeff Dane, doesn't look like a muderous rap mogul crime CROOK!

Thank you for responding to my post. This does clarify your concerns and they are well taken. But in the case of WOC (and Jeff Dane, subject of another thread today) the basic indisputable facts about the operation itself speak for themselves. An attack on the characters of the people involved is almost superfluous.

Frankly, I find the fact WOC has a so-called "clean" record with Florida Dept. of Agriculture to be somewhat meaningless. We are not talking about livestock here. But then again, to compare these breeders to farmers is to do the farmers a disservice.

It sounds to me like they have a "clean record" because they eventually resolved all the complaints and violations as required by the dept of agriculture and consumer services. kinda like you can have a "clean dmv record" but that doesn't necessarily mean you've never had any points on your record.

Said he was shut down a couple of times and fined $20,000 one time and $4,600 (I believe it was) another time. Obviously this is a person of very little integrity. IMO he's not worth defending, even in the guise of 'getting the story straight'. We've all been witness (on this forum) how we all see our own 'truths' and how a Google search will find an article to support whatever 'truth' you choose to defend.

Doesn't make it moral...
