Rude!!!! So I was at Petsmart in the checkout line and I picked up the Yorkie Magazine just to read while I was waiting and this older man behind me starts saying to me, "Those are the ugliest dogs." I just gave him a look and was like "I think they are cute." How rude is that, he probably said it three times. Like, did he not think that I could possibly have one? I just left it alone because it wouldn't be worth it to get in a tiff over that with someone I don't know. Some people are just ignorant! |
That is rude. I cant believe anyone would think a yorkie is ugly. I think they are the prettiest dogs there is. |

I had a similar situation on Saturday at Petsmart with Rocky. There was lady w/ a white poodle was making fun of me because I put a t-shirt on Rocky. Plus I heard her say they Rocky was not very cute at all. I just ignored her. Anyways she was just probably jealous because my Rocky was better dressed than here naked poodle. People are intitled to there own opinions, but I feel that sometimes they should keep their opinons to thereselves and consider other peoples feelings. |
All I can say is he has NO idea what he is missing out on! YORKIES ROCK!!!! |

IGNORE PEOPLE LIKE THIS!!! Once at Petco I had someone tell me, while Bruce was in my arms mind you, "Oh is that a yorkshire terrier, why would you want one?, They look dirty to me like they have been soaked in urnine?" I could not resist the urge to respond with "oh as oppossed to that junk yard mongrel you have?" but I wish I hadn't, better not to let these fools know what they are missing out on! |
Okay, I definitely think that someone saying that to you with Bruce in your hands takes the cake of rude. Who does that? |

Some people are absolutely obnoxious! You don’t say something rude about someone’s pet. People think of pets like children. To me it’s just the same as telling you, your child is ugly. What is wrong with people? |
I take Roxy with me to all of my daughters games and at least a few times someone has asked "whats that" with a real stink additude. I just reply oh I thought everyone knew she was a monkey, must be just you. The other parents on our team laugh and say OMG someone asked again? Pretty crazy I think. |
I'm so sorry about that!! Some people really are stupid!!! If someone said that about my baby I would have smacked them! Or atleast said well, I think he is adorable! And much better looking than you!! Or something like that! Don't worry about it! We all know that they are amazing animals! Truelly beautiful!!! You are a wonderful person for just walking away! |
I am not usually bothered by too many things in life so I just brush it off as amusement for the day, to tell you the truth. I know in my heart that shes a cutie and really thats all that matters. |
That is just obnoxious! I hope no one ever says something like that to me because my Italian temper will most certainly cause harsh words to come flying out of my mouth! The worst I've gotten so far is some woman asking me if Dolce (who was in a PINK sweater, PINK harness and on a PINK leash, mind you) was a boy or girl. I was so dumbfounded by her stupidity that I couldn't even respond. I just stared at her with my mouth wide open. LOL! |
Unbelievable! I can't imagine people being that rude! I don't know how I would react. I do think it's jealousy, alot of people see them am as prissy dogs and from what they see on tv, with the stars, and then they hear how much people are charging and paying for them,, then they see someone with one, they look down on you, out of jealousy. |
I actually have a lot of experience with this. I can't count how many times someone has made a comment to me while Bailey was with me about how ugly my dog is or how can you love a dog that looks like a rodent. I just ignore them. It's not worth my time to make them understand why I love my yorkies so much. I guess it's like me saying I don't like reptiles and my son has one. Oh well what can you do? |

I hear stupid comments like that all the time. I have a Yorkie puppy and 3 English bulldogs, the last person that said something to me I simply stated "Did I ask your opinion of my babies looks? I'd love to give you my opinion on YOUR looks, but I'm afraid you couldn't handle the truth" and simply walk on. I love them all like they are my children and agree if you can't say anything nice then say nothing at all. |
UNfortunately you will bump into people like that:( I was in a pet store getting Lady some canned food when she had her baby teeth removed and she was in her carrier asleep,she was still groggy.Well whilst I was in the cue paying,the man behind me laughed and said that these stupid little "rats" were nothing but "ankle biters" and "ass lickers" (excuse the expresion):mad: I was SO angry! He had a great big english bull dog with a big black leather collar with spikes on it and he looked like a thug to me! When he saw me looking he said "what? Its true? What use is a dog the size of a rat?" and of course he laughed again (he was with another guy). These people are best left alone because they need BIG dogs to make up for smaller things by the looks of it:rolleyes: I didnt even waste my breath! |

Why do people feel it is their duty to give their opinions? Can you imagine walking up to someone with a newborn,," Oh , that's the ugliest baby I have ever seem." I take them, the same as my child.. Keep you opinions to yourself, Unless, you want some of mine! :mad: |
I can't imagine anyone thinking a yorkie is ugly. I get tons of compliments whenever I bring Zoe out. He's the star of wherever we go. People can be sooooo rude!! Its like saying someone's infant is ugly in front of thier face. Kudos for you guys that remained calm. I think I would've went beserk!! |
