Yikes! I think I paid $375 for neutering and for a couple of teeth and then I had to go back 3 months later for more teeth pulling which was another couple of hundred dollars! |
You would pay around $250 around here and yes I would definitely do it before she goes into heat if at all possible!! Every heat they go through without intention to breed gives them a higher risk of the uterine and mammary cancers. Good Luck :D - no sense in telling you not to worry though, you can't help but worry though when your baby goes under the knife. |
I paid 200 for the cbc (because Mignon is very small I wanted to cover all my bases) and the spay teeth pulling was an additional 275.00 |
I asked my vet a few weeks ago how much it would cost to spay my Penny... the cost would be $89. It is nice to know this is one of the "lower" rates out there. :D |
Yikes! I think I've been taken for a LONG ride. I paid $425 for Muffin's surgery. Everything was ala carte. Each procedure was a seperate charge. Blood work, anesthesia, operating room, spaying, teeth pulling and pain medicine. I guess I should have done some homework and found a good vet that didn't charge as much. And to top things off, Muffin developed a bladder infection two weeks after her surgery so I had to take her back to the vet to the tune of another $200 dollars! Of course the vet said the infection had 'nothing' to do with her surgery which I think is bull but I can't prove it. The vet did find slight elevation in Muffin's kidney values. Don't quite know what that means but I have to bring her back in next week for another blood test to check them again. Does anybody know what elevated kidney values means???? |
I just paid $170 each for my girls yesterday. This included their spay, teeth removal and heart worm test. |
I just called my vet to see how much it will cost to Rocky fixed next month. They quoted me $200 plus another $30 for the microchip. The $200 includes the pre-op blood work, the procedure, and the meds afterwards. I think that is a little much, especially when I got my cat fixed it was $100 for all the previously mentioned plus declawing. |
Well the vet got back to me and said total would be $400 if I opted to have an IV line and some other things. But he said he usually does this for older dogs and coco is young so she really doesn't need that. He said if I don't go with that then it will cost about $250. Also because she is due to have 2 shots. so that is included in the price. I don't know if I should look around or not. This is the vet I have always taken her to so I felt like they would know her health more. So no matter what he charges this is most likely where she is going to end up. |
I'm looking at $185.00 for Lizzy because she is under 1 year old and 285.00 for Zoe because she will be 3...My vet did say to have Lizzy spayed befor she went into her first heat cycle because of the cancer issue.... |
here is a detailed list of what I paid for. 200.00 for complete bloodwork 7.50-subq injection .75 cents for torbogesic(she is very small LOL) 22.70-mask induction-sevoflurane ovariohysterectmy-55.90 iv catheter set up-21.90 hospitalization-11.20 surgical pack supplies-10.20 1 rimadyl cut into teeny pieces-free!! rimadyl inj-1.00 1EKG lead strip-12.50 oral surgery-34.00 general anasthesia-isoflurane-49.00 cardiac resp monitor-15.30 pre surgical exam-8.90 pre anesthetic med inj-8.00 total 458.85 I said 475.00 so I was a little off. |
I paid almost $500 for Buddha's neutering and I took him to a veterinary dental specialist for the teeth removel becasue the vet said he had too mny retained to take them out during the neuter and that procedure was $1200. I didn't mind paying either time because I knew my baby was getting the very best care. I don't think surgery is a place to try and get discounts or use low cost "clinics" because then they have to "cut corners" (like not doing the IV or not having a separate person monitor the aneshtesia, etc) and it makes the procedure possibly even more risky. No one wants to get taken to the cleaners so I would get estimates from 2 or 3 vets, tour the facilities, ask for a description of how the process goes in their office, and choose the one you feel is going to give your baby the best care regardless of the cost. This is what I did. Good luck! |
I think around $85. However, I had bloodwork done on one of my dog before I had her spayed and I think all together it cost me about $150 |
Just had my girlo spayed and it was like 150.00 with teeth removal and pain meds. I had pet insurance god bless pet insurance. I would have had to skip a few shopping trips to afford 3000 dollars for a spay . |
I paid $50 for Coco's spaying and her medication. They would have pulled her teeth for $5 a tooth but she didn't need it. I was very happy with the service. It was at Tony LaRue's vet clinic. They vets were amazing! |
