| Does your dog eat dirt They put in new water lines around my block. Dexter will on occasion chew around on the soil.

| My guy eats anything, be it crawling, flying hes's on it. So far he hasn't tried eating dirt. You should check him out with your vet, he may be lacking a nutrient.

| YES. Dogs eat dirt! Let there be one tiny spot of dirt showing and they start digging. Many times it is because they are looking for worms. I had a little girl years ago who loved to go look for worms in the dirt around my banana trees. I had to put a fence up to stop her. I honestly think it bothers us more than it does them.....around this time of year it seems to be worse. I have 3 dirt eaters right now and they are perfectly healthy. They can get sick from things in the soil.....so, I do discourage it. I usually cover any areas where they start digging. BUT, I have never had one get ill from eating dirt.

| I guess my pups have cast iron stomachs. I have to chase Ariel, Hannah and Baxter around in the yard over dirt and other things that I won't talk about that they like to eat. They don't get sick....I do .... LOL

| Piper doesn't eat dirt per se; however, she likes to bury her bones in mud--using her little beak--so I'm sure she ingests a little. Piper has developed digestive issues so I'm hyper-vigilant as to what she gets into, or rather, what gets into her! |
