RC is not the only company that has been having issues. Hills Science Diet was another. A friend of mine went to Petsmart one day and she said the shelves were almost bare. There are numerous reasons for the problems. Aside from shipping delays, there also is a huge increase in pet ownership.

But, as Breny, just posted, it is improving.

I wish had seen this thread earlier. What I found out through trial and error is that it is best to keep an Autoship going on Chewy. They put food aside ahead of time for those shipments! ALSO, what RC did was prioritize their RX foods so some of the others were very hard to find. The YT kibble was a real problem for a while, but is ok now.

The ingredient labels are not a way to find food. I highly recommend reading the information on www.petdiets.com

If you go into the "ask the nutritionist" section, you can search for such terms as "by products" and "corn" and "grains". Highly qualified vet nutritionists are on that website and the information is invaluable.

IMHO the dog food advisor and some of the pet food companies have really let the pet community down with their ingredient propoganda. It was a way to try to bash the larger companies and get some of their business which I think was really awful. One company seemed to be spending more money on marketing than qualified vet nutritionists.

I’m glad you are. I was able to find an extra bag of what I feed and then 2 big bags of the yorkie but everything else is gone and bare here.

They said they have no time line on when they are starting it back up but they are trying to open a new plant. Anywhere I try to order it from cancels it and every where else is out. I liked being able to go to the store to get their food because it forces me to get out of the house. I found the absolute last bag of the food I feed that’s within 2 hours of me the shelves are almost bare. I did find 2 big bags of the adult yorkie and snagged them because Ollie will eat it and I have started mixing them. Even when they finally start production again it’s going to take a long time to catch up.

You would be better off getting it from Chewy for now and making it an autoship. You can always change the date or remove it, but if you can get it on autoship, you will be pretty much guaranteed to get it the next time.

They are still out and have been for at least two months and sadly I can't add it to autoship until its back in stock :(

Yep, and I check at least every other day too. Its the small breed sensitive digestion.

Since I mixed it with the yorkie everyone is eating it and not picking pieces of one or the other so if I have to since the Yorkie food seems to be easier to find I may just have to switch to it. I still have some right now so I'm going to try not to stress about it to much. I don't know what it is about Royal Canin but it is seriously the only brand Ollie will eat.
