They are each different and I have adjusted based on how they maintain their weight...
but about 95 grams for a 6lb pup

My RC can is 13.5 oz (385g). My math is terrible. How much dog food should I feed her?

From the RC website:

Feeding guidelines are provided for each Royal Canin diet, based on the age, size and/or weight of the pet. These indicate the amount to feed your pet each day. It’s recommended to divide this into two or three meals throughout the day.

Use an appropriate weighing scale and/or the specific measuring cup as annotated on the bag. Always ensure that you measure food very carefully. A small measuring variation when feeding cats and small dogs can significantly increase their calorie intake.

I posted the above before I saw this. Probably best for you to use the chart on their site because they have it for low , medium and high activity.

She LOVES it. I'm feeding her 1 1/2 oz twice a day. Does that sound right?

That doesn't sound like much. That is about 86 grams/day. On the RC site a 4.4 lb dog should have:

low activity: 1/2 can (150 g)

medium activity: 1 1/2 cans (173 g)

high activity: 1 1/2 cans (197 g)


Is she low, moderate or high activity? I can try to help you figure it out.

Very low activity. Plus she needs to be under 6 lbs.

You might want to call your vet and ask for advice on what her ideal weight should be so you can figure out how much to feed. They should you advise you without having to bring her in for an exam since you were there recently.

Thanks, Lady Jane. She seems satisfied with the amount I'm giving her. She doesn't beg for more than or before it's time for the next meal. It will probably be something I have to keep adjusting until I get it right

I keep us both weighed once a week. I hold her while on the digital bathroom scale, then weigh just myself and subtract the difference. Both of us need to lose a little weight.
