| ugghhh....Duchess has gained some weight Well Miss Thang is losing her girlish figure. She has gain 2.0lbs since the lockdown. She went from 7.5lbs to a little over 9.5lbs. We haven't been walking as much. I usually take her for very long walks several times a day and to the dog park at least once a week where she loves to "run the fence". She basically finds a big dog on the other side of the fence and they run back and forth barking at each other. That one activity alone keeps her in good shape.....if she finds the right dog, she can literally spend the entire time at the dog parking running the fence. Sometimes I have to stop her just to make her get some rest before she blows a gasket . She loves running the fence so much that she will stand at the fence barking at all the big dogs waiting for one to come over and engage her. Sometimes she will have every big dog and little dog in the park running the fence with her. We have not been to go to the dog park since Mar 15th because it's been closed. So starting to day, she will be getting smaller portions and longer walks. They lifted some restrictions in my area. I think the dog park is will be opening soon too but I will wait before going. I think I need the number of cases to drop in my area before I become comfortable with hanging out in public areas. |

| Got a treadmill? Mine are getting quite porkie too, as am I! Seriously though it’s safer outside because the sun’s uv rays kill the virus quickly, and it’s not as easy to catch it off surfaces as was originally thought. Stay safe!

| I don't have a treadmill. Im gaining weight too.....lol. There is a park with a 2 mile hiking trail that was just re opened and is much closer than the dog park. So we are going to that park at for least 3 times a week. I know Duchess is wondering why we haven't been out as much. Last edited by yavenay; 05-22-2020 at 09:06 AM. |

| Since we don't know how long this will last, a treadmill might be a good idea for you to investigate. Fortunately, I live in an apartment building with a good parking lot. Gidget and I walk right here and we don't usually see anyone else. She's the only dog in the building so there's no chance of meeting another dog walker. Unless it's raining, we do a 1/10 mile several times a day. This gives her time to sniff and scout out what's in the grass. She loves it. |

But I will be going there at least 3 a week to get Duchess and I back in shape. I don't really want to get a treadmill because I don't plan on staying a my present location for too much longer. I just have to cut down on the treats for her and I. I have been giving her more treats than usual because I have been using them to alleviate some of her boredom by playing games and training with her. | |
