Man. It IS Scary! THIS is my little love! Not their Prey! I am always watching. We have coyotes bad out here! BAD! As in wake you with their screaming, and howling, and barking at night!

Ha Ha Ha. I had to dig mine out to walk with Katy. I bought an umbrella. LOVE it, but it is really big. The wind grabs it. So I bought a small one. THAT one, it's a Totes, really works! Happy to say, nothing about it scares Katy. Nor Teanna. THAT is a blessing. I have seen (not mine but others) dogs go NUTS around umbrellas.....


It could be that umbrellas scare dogs because they seem......LIKE BIRDS OF PREY, ey? Some 'expert' somewhere probably tells that anyway.

That umbrela is perfect to help protect your dogs!!! Birds cant attack what they cant see or get to, great idea maybe for even nonrain days!

I have to be honest with you I have no idea if mine have been around umbrellas or not. I believe Callie has because when she was on her crate rest with either of her 3 leg surgery’s I had to take her out by leash in the rain so I probably used an umbrella but she is very chill and easy going. Not sure how the others would react. I’m sure Ollie would bark lol he barks at everything he doesn’t know what it is so you have to show him and he stops.

Imagine....... There I was looking like a Tree, and Katy was wearing her BRIGHT NEON GREEN/YELLOW/ORANGE belted Raincoat with Yellow Flowers on sewed to it, with a Bright Neon Green Leash..... IMAGINE the Eagle...... "What the F^%$ was THAT! That Tree and Bush MOVED, they walked, I sweartheydid!"! "I was just hoping for a squirrel for breakfast that the coyote scared up.....WTF DID I JUST SEE!"
BAHAHAHAHHAHHA! BAHAHAHAHHAH!


But Yes. I am so careful about Katy out there! Coyotes are scary enough!

You do know Hawks, Falcons and Eagles are protected. You could get a very hefty fine if it is found you killed one of these birds.
One of our members "yorkiemini" her yorkie actually killed a hawk that was attacking her, because yorkiemini had a garden tool in her yard, (I believe it was a rake) she was accused of killing the bird, she went through hell and high water over this. Here is a bit of a post of hers

"My little 3 lb 10 oz Yorkie survived a hawk attack a couple years ago. There is a thread somewhere here on Yorkie talk about it.

All of the wild life experts kept saying that those Hawks would never go for anything they could not carry and that she was too big (that is why I got a citation for a fine of $10,000brcause they were convinced that I had killed the hawk). I now know so much more".

Protected or not no matter what it is if it try’s to attack my dog it will be killed yep even an eagle.

Hey I am right there with you on that, regardless of what type of animal or bird it may be. Would I watch a 2 year old child get mauled or eaten, hell no, my pup is that 2 YO child.

But ppl must be made aware there are severe consequences if caught killing any protected species.

Wasn't it Yorkiemom1, a Houston Yorkie breeder and active poster here for quite a while, who years back had her chihuahua taken away in the clutches of a large bird of prey? I remember her retelling of the story was a total horror story. Can't recall if she ever found her body.

That had to be before my time.

I miss Yorkiemom1, she offered so much help to ppl with litters who had no clue what to do.

So lets do what we can to pervent it rather than hurting endagared species!!! Understand the feeling, we have to play are part though too!

A lot of ppl do not know what is protected by law. Here in the mountains of Pennsylvania if a coyote comes in my yard I can shoot it. In Chicago they are protected under law. In Chicago suburbs coyotes live among the ppl, food source is abundant, just knock over a trash pail, no hunting involved.

When ppl live among prey animals they learn to take precaution but many ppl do not know what species are protected by law where they live, and that is important to know.
