You are trying to turn this around on us and make yourself not responsible but good luck with that. The trainer told you this is fixable you just don’t want to put in the work. If you can not handle him with issues that are fixable you can’t handle other dogs if they had issues let alone a child that goes through issues you have to teach them not to do or goodness forbid you have a special needs child. And no my holidays are ruined by the though of this poor baby.

I can see why you might be thinking we attacked you.....most did not mean to at all! Most of us were honestly just trying to give you ideas that might work for the situation you are in.


My cats, however, are NOT miserable, they like their private toilets. We made the tubs into toilets to save money on buying the type of Kitty Litters that have the tops. The tubs are larger and easier to clean than the ones a person can buy with the snap off lids. I won't use anything else from now on. We have SEVERAL of these set up. Why? My GSD was TERRIBLE about getting into the kitty litter! These have changed that.



My dogs did NOT come from a Puppy Mill, a Pet Store, NOR a "rescue". I searched long and hard to find a Responsible Breeder that was/is breeding by the Standard for the Breed (breeds I own). I also would like for you to know that I SURELY did not buy Katy on a 'whim'. I first researched the breed, by reading MANY of the old (and new) Yorkshire Terrier Books, and talking to people that own and breed them. It was over 7 months before I found the puppy I wanted to have in my heart and home.


I am sorry that this became what it has. You asked for help. You were JUDGED by others that do not know you and only had your note to go on. I promise you, not everyone on this list is like that. Please stay and enjoy the folks that are offering real help and ignore the ones that want to tell other dog owners how to live, those that feel like they are not only better than, but have the right to make a person feel like you are feeling.

Your last few sentences feel like an attack at least on me but possibly Joan also and I feel that is unwarranted especially considering we wanted to help and tried to help. I’m not sure either of you get how frustrating it is to be the type of people who would literally do anything for their dogs because they are their children and then come across someone who won’t even when they have been told it’s a fixable situation. I have first hand seen how many dogs get “thrown away” because they aren’t wanted or the owner doesn’t want to work with training them. I have also seen what this does to the dogs. I’m not going to apologize for being passionate and judging. I have spent all my money and prayer and time trying to save my almost 13 year old yorkie and would do anything possible I could for her and my other 3 so seeing someone who won’t is hard!

And I am greatful for your cat litter box idea, I just couldnt process when I was being told never to have a child. I am sorry for not thanking you for it sooner even if im not sure my kitty will like it.

When, or if, you set up the Kitty Litter Box, set it, filled with the same litter you use in your other Litter Box, but set the new one right next to the one that your cats are using and used to. With the lid off, set your cat inside of the new one. Your cat might run out. But believe me, cats are cats and your cats will come back to check it out, either right away when you are not looking, or within a couple of days. You should find that they will use the covered one more often than the old one very soon.....but either way.....leave both Litter Boxes for the cats to use for at least a week.

You also need to look at the whole picture when people ask for help. She got the dog at 3 years old. It came with a Boat Load of problems. THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT SHE SHOULD NEVER HAVE ANOTHER DOG OR A CHILD.

I believe it was YOU that said, on another thread, that not all dogs are good for every home, even good homes.....wasn't it you? So by YOUR own word, this would be a MisMatch, not a bad person, or even a bad pet owner. Just one with a Dog with a Boat Load of Problems.

She has been told she can fix the problem by training but doesn’t want to put in the time so say she gets another dog and it ends up having an issue so then she gets rid of it and there is a big pattern started and continued. Dogs are not throw aways they are living beings with needs and feelings. It would be horrible to sell this dog to someone with these issues unless surrendered to a rescue that will work to fix the dogs issues. We were very helpful before it turned into her just deciding to give up and “sell” the dog. Getting rid of a dog because you are not wanting to put in the time does make you a bad pet owner. I also do not remember saying what you said so I’m not sure it was me. When you take on a dog that is a rescue or has had other owners you have to be prepared for there to be some issues and you have to be prepared to take on those issues if you aren’t then maybe a rescue is not for you. I have 2 that are full on rescues that required lots of time to get them over certain things as well as one that came from a bad breeder that has had to have massive issues helped with.

This brought me enbcouragement and I am greatful! Maybe I will stick around if I meet other people here like you!!! And the plan to move to a covered kitty box is smart.

You keep saying I pick on writing style but you know mine is bad unless I have time to edit and prepare and that is hard. Im not sure where I picked on writing other than the word "tortured" about a cat that I misunderstood since it turned out it was all in fun--in the end i was the one with egg on my face since i made the mistake!!!

Also I look back and think I made ohter mistakes by not being more understanding about poop/pee issues--i have them and i shouldnt say anything until i know more about how to fix my own issues!

There are breed specific rescues for most popular breeds. Sadly, the more popular the breed, the more homeless ones.

I don't know what you mean by "research", but I know for a fact that you didn't "research" the rescue I am with because we NEVER turn a mix away. Matter of fact if you read our mission statement, it says it there!

I just see plenty of places (like Save a Yorkie) who want to know if it's yorkie or mix and a picture so I didnt know if it meant a mix might not be alowed or it would depend or something.

Always remember though that each rescue has its own guidelines and that doesn't mean they are not doing good. I probably should not have used the word "reputable" above because even IF they don't take a mix it doesn't mean a group is not reputable. I just know that most of the yorkie rescues I know will take mixes.

There are far too many homeless dogs in this country and simply not enough people to help them all. It is an overwhelming and tragic problem.

So I have good news and bad news!!

Bad news: I finally gave up my dog Kiki. He was focused only on eating poo*and thinking about it and being aggressive*about it and time was UP after YEARS! Lost a fiance, my mind, some friends & family visits and a lot of money on trainers who failed or I failed or we all FAILED!!!!! I'll be honest: I cried before, but the second Kiki was gone, I felt nothing but joy and lightness knowing he would be in a better place and I invited friends over for a celebratory dinner for the first time in years!!! Everyone was so happy.

So now that Kiki is finally gone thank gawd, I am getting a new puppy who is part yorkie but not ALL. I love yorkies but not their poo*problems so I think this could solve*everything. I am so excited and this will change everything now that I get a dog that everyone doesnt*think is gross and disgusting but has that precious face!!

Poor Kiki. I surely hope he has a good family.

I rehomed a dog after years of people telling me to rehome a dog. Maybe I am "too dumb." At least I said it. I may replay if I want but ok. I get it. I wasnt capabel of making kiki happy after many years and kiki didnt make anyone else happy and people here also told me to hehome so i eventually did atfter the worst of covid so here i am.

Not one member on YT told you to rehome him. You wrote you had a behaviorist tell you poop eating could be trained out of Kiki but it would take time. YOU did not want to put the time in.

All I can say is, whoever Kiki is with, he has a better life with them than what he had with you. And for you to have a party to celebrate dumping a sweet lil pup is degusting.

I pity this new dog you have. I hope for the sake of this dog he is perfect and has no flaws, or out the door this one will go, just like Kiki.

We have had a person come here off and on over the years for the express purpose of trolling. Always something about training and always complaining about a yorkie. With all of this, I have wondered if that is what was going on here.....honestly, I hope so because if not, then poor Kiki and definitely poor new puppy. There is no perfect dog OR human for that matter on the planet.
