| Shampoo Alergy ??? I took Gidget to a new groomer about a month ago. Since then she's been having bouts of itching. She gets flea treatment every month. Checked her anyway and didn't find any fleas. Could it be a shampoo allergy and if so what can I do for her. She's not scratching continually but much more often than before. Any suggestions? |

| It could be environmental allergies. If you have tried bathing her with her normal shampoo and she still seems to be itching then she might need to head to the vet.

| I don't usually bathe her between vet visits - just daily brushing. So the only shampoo was the the groomers. |

| Well I would definitely try to bath her with either a sensitive skin shampoo or one made for itching. There are good ones you can order but you might want to try to either get something from your vet or your local pet store so you can get her bathed pretty fast. If it environmental allergies she will need a bath weekly.

| It could be that she was not rinsed well after shampoo and has shampoo residue on her skin. I'd suggest you give her a bath with a regular shampoo, rinse well and see. If it continues - then vet. |

| Thanks for all the suggestions. She has another grooming appointment next week. Will mention it to groomer but will try a suggested shampoo in the meantime. |

| You can ask your groomer to use a hypoallergenic shampoo. That's what I have my groomer use, 2 weeks after grooming I bathe him with Douxo Calm shampoo, then 2 weeks later he's back at the groomer. My pooch has allergies these shampoos help reduce itching. If your baby has allergies you should talk to your vet about it. There are meds to help with allergies.
